Questions were aplenty heading into the semi-final against England. Rain around in Guyana, England, in form, the dark memories of Adelaide 2022 and India's performance in the knockouts in the past decade. Rohit Sharma and his men have buried the ghosts of the 2022 T20 WC semis and bombarded the defending champions, knocking them out of the tournament.

Two unbeaten teams, South Africa and India, will compete for silverware in Barbados on Saturday (June 29). The result, either way, will be a historical moment! Don't forget to join us for the grand final.

There are plenty of actions across the globe and tune in with us for those nail-biting encounters. For now, it is AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Akshay Bhide and Ajay Pal Singh, who, alongside our scorers/analysts Paras Yadav and Raju Khariya, brought you all the live-action of this mouth-watering fixture. We will meet again. Until then, its cheers!

Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "Yeah absolutely, very satisfying. To win this game, we worked really hard to come through this stage.

I thought we adapted well to the conditions. The conditions were challenging, we had to adapt and that has been our success story. If the bowlers and batters play according to the conditions, things fall in place. Very pleasing to see how we fared in this game.

At one stage we were looking at 140-150 and then as the game went onto we got some partnerships, me and Surya. I can set the target in my mind but I can't tell the batters. They are all instinctive players, we bat well, we play the conditions well. We got to 170 which I thought was a good score on that pitch.

I thought they are gun spinners and when the conditions help, they exactly know what to bowl. They just tried to hit the stumps as much as they can.

Look, he (Virat Kohli) is a quality player, any player can go through that. Form is never a problem when you play for 15 years. I guess he is saving it for the final. Obviously we will (when asked if he will back Kohli for the final despite his low scores).

I do understand the occasion but it is important for us to keep calm. In this game, we were very steady, we didn't panic and that is what we want to do in the finals as well.

We will try our best, all I can say is we want to put up another show in the final."
Jos Buttler (England Captain): "I think India certainly outplayed us. We let them get 20-25 runs too many. It was a challenging surface and credit to them for outplaying us.

Two years down. Different conditions. Credit to India for adapting to the conditions really well and they deserved to win.

With the rain around, didn't think it wasn't going to change much. I thought they had an above par score. I don't think the toss was necessarily the difference between the teams.

They have got fantastic spinners. Our spinners bowled well and in hindsight, should have bowled Moeen with the way spinners were bowling. But they got to a good total and it was a tough chase.

I think everything that has happened throughout the tournament, I'm proud of the boys. Through the adversity, we have stuck through as a group but we didn't step up when it was needed the most."

Rohit Sharma is sitting on a chair in the dressing room. The rest of the players come to him and pat him on the back for his brilliant leadership. Meanwhile, Rohit is emotional and is soaking in the moment.
Axar Patel (Player of the Match): "I have bowled many overs in the powerplay in the past. That was the plan. I knew the wicket was assisting spin bowling and the ball was stopping. So I tried to keep it simple.

The wicket is slow. I knew it was hard for the batters to hit. I tried to bowl little slower in this match and it worked for me.

With the way our batsmen told us that wicket isn't easy to hit. Some balls are staying low and skidding, we thought anything above 150 was a good total for us.

That partnership between Rohit and Suryakumar was fantastic. They played one shot boundary and rotated the strike well.

I will celebrate this player of the match in the knockout first and not thinking too much about the final in Barbados."

1:31 AM IST & 4:01 PM Local Time: India absolutely clobbered England by 68 runs to avenge the 10-wicket defeat from 2022 World Cup semi-final and make it to their 3rd final. The Men in Blue will now face South Africa in the grand finale in Barbados on Saturday (June 29). It is fitting that the two undefeated sides will meet in the final of a World Cup.

Earlier, England won the toss and invited India to bat first. The reasoning behind it was the overcast conditions and a bit of rain around.

The defending champions started well as they sent back Virat Kohli early. He made a run-a-ball 9. Rohit Sharma took matters into his own hands and played another exceptional knock, scoring a well-deserved half-century.

Suryakumar Yadav made 47 off 36 and Hardik Pandya added 23 off just 13 balls. Jadeja too played a good cameo, remaining unbeaten on 17 off 9.

Despite not a big finish, India managed to post a total of 171/7 from their 20 overs.

England started the chase in the 5th gear as both Jos Buttler took the attack to the pacers. Axar Patel was introduced into the attack in the 4th over and he immediately made an impact by sending back the England captain. Buttler made 23 off 15.

Bumrah changed ends and knocked over Salt’s leg stump. In his next over, Axar castled Jonny Bairstow. Kuldeep Yadav came into the attack and soon joined the wicket-taking party. He finished the day with 3/19 from his quota of 4 overs.

Apart from Buttler, only Harry Brook (25 off 19) made a notable contribution. Livingstone looked at ease in the middle but a mix-up with Jofra Archer ended his innings at 11.

Archer hit a few big shots towards the end and had some fun but it was the Men in Blue who were too hot to handle for the Englishmen. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation from this contest.
