So, that was quick. Australia beat Namibia comprehensively and book a place in the Super 8 stage. With that, it's time for us to take your leave. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer Bishal Mandal. Until next time, cheers and goodbye.
Mitchell Marsh (Australia Captain): "Yeah, I thought our bowlers gave a great bowling performance. Everyone tried to take early wickets. Tried to swing the ball. It was a good wicket, though. A complete bowling effort.

I think qualifying for the Super 8 as early as possible is very important. We will get very busy after the game against Scotland. We will go everywhere. Meetings and games are coming thick and fast. We have one more game against Scotland. Hopefully, we will win that one and go into the Super 8 with good momentum.

Geez! Zampa is a great player. If you look at his career over the last 5-6 years, he is one of our key players. He loves the big stages, absorbs the pressure, and delivers. We are lucky to have him.

(On enjoying Caribbean Island) Probably not as many beers as you had back in the day Haydos (Matthew Hayden). Lots of beach days and it's like being back in Perth, we are enjoying it. We have families here, mate! Thanks, Haydos (Matthew Hayden)."
Gerhard Erasmus (Namibia Captain): "I guess it feels like we were quite not willing to go the run. A dent in the bowlers' confidence as well. Things didn’t quite work out well for us tonight.

The things that we have learnt from this is that you can’t sit back against the best in the world. The skill gap is there where we can close it by fighting with fire and fire. But we haven’t done that in this tournament so far.

A good side like Australia with their skillset and we were not mentally strong enough to step up on the day. The conditions were fair and unfortunately we didn’t play good enough cricket."

Adam Zampa (Player of the Match): "(On getting to 100 T20I wickets) It sounds fine. First things first, nice to get the win. Qualify for the Super 8 and it is a nice feeling.

I have bowled a couple of pies. It has been coming in well but really happy to pick wickets in the middle overs and try to do my thing for the captain.

We had the wind in the Barbados as well. It is a challenge. You need to adapt to it quickly.

We are happy to qualify for the Super 8s. It’s a first step in taking the trophy home. But it’s still a long way to go."

8:10 AM IST and 10:40 PM Local Time: Namibia was annihilated as Australia recorded a massive win to leap into the Super 8 stage in the T20 World Cup 2024! The Mitchell Marsh-led side won their third Group B game by 9 wickets with 86 balls to spare!

Opting to bowl first, Australia ran through Namibia's batting line-up and decimated them for just 72 in 17 overs, their lowest total in T20Is. Only two batters got to the double figures mark. Skipper Gerhard Erasmus top-scored, hitting 36 off 43 balls, but took 17 balls to get off the mark. Opener Michael van Lingen scored 10 runs.

Adam Zampa was the show's star, finishing with figures of 4/12 in 4 overs and becoming the first Australian to complete 100 T20I wickets. Josh  Hazlewood (2/18) and Marcus Stoinis (2/9) picked up a couple of wickets, while Pat Cummins (1/16) and Nathan Ellis (1/12) finished with a wicket each.

David Warner and Travis Head were off to a flyer, with the former smashing an 8-ball 20 before being dismissed at the hands of David Wiese in the second over. There were no further hiccups as Head (34* off 17) and Mitchell Marsh (18* off 9) did the rest to wrap up the chase in just 5.4 overs.

Stay tuned for the post-match ceremony!
