That's it from an electric encounter in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. India getting the better of their arch rivals Pakistan in a tense encounter. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "I think we didn't bat well enough. Halfway through the stage, when we were batting we were 80 for 3 down. You expect guys to stitch the partnership. We were 15-20 runs short. Every run matters on a ground like this. Bowlers came and did the job for us.

I thought there was enough in the pitch. Was a good wicket to be honest compared to the last 2 wickets we played here. 140 was a good score to fight. With this bowling attack you feel confident that the boys can do the job. The never say die attitude in the team. We only had 119 on the board. We wanted to make early inroads which we didn't. At the halfway stage of their innings, we regrouped and said 'if things can happen to us, it can happen to them as well.'

You need everyone to show up. Little contribution from everyone makes a huge difference. Whoever had ball in hand wanted to contribute for the team.

Bumrah is going strength to strength. We've seen him over the years now and what he can do with the ball we all know about it. I am not gonna talk too much about him. We want him to be in that mindset till the end of the World Cup. He is a genius with the ball.

There is no doubt about it. The crowd was superb. They never disappoint. Wherever we play in the world, they come in huge numbers and support us. I am sure they will go home with a big smile on their face. Its just the start of the tournament, still a long way to go."
Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): "I think we bowled well after 10 overs. We restricted them to 120 which was a good total here. We started well but we lost back-to-back wickets. We played too many dot balls and it didn't help.

The tactic was simple. Just try to rotate the strike and play according to the situation. But I guess we played too many dot balls in that period and we failed to take it deep.

We try to utilize the first six overs. But we were one wicket down and we were not up to the mark. We didn't capitalize properly and we failed to get across the line.

The pitch looked decent today. The ball was coming nicely onto the bat. There were a few that stayed a bit low but it is okay with the drop-in pitches.

We have to sit and discuss before the last two games and how to go about it in those."

Jasprit Bumrah (Player of the Match): "Yeah, it feels really good. We fell away a little under par and the sun came out. So, we had to be disciplined with the ball in hand and really happy with this win.

Try to keep it simple. Just hit the seam as much as I can and let the pitch do the rest. Just focus on my execution.

It felt really good. It felt like we were playing in India. The cheer is always appreciated and it gives us energy on the field as well.

You know, focus on the now. We have played two games and played them very well. Nothing changes. You stick to your process and come out and try to execute the plan."

1:09 AM IST, 3:39 PM Local Time: India hold their nerves to squeeze a very closely fought low scoring thriller against Pakistan winning by 6 runs to get to the top of the Group A points table.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the toss in the rain delayed contest electing to bowl first. 3 wickets each from Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf helped to restrict the men in blue for 119 with Rishabh Pant top scoring with 42 in 31 balls.

Pakistan got a tidy but slow start with both the openers getting a reprieve before Babar Azam was sent back by Jasprit Bumrah. Usman Khan added 47 runs for the 2nd wicket with Rizwan with Axar Patel removing him on the first ball he delivered in his spell.

Jasprit Bumrah produced a world class bowling display with 3/14 in his 4 overs bowling 15 precious dot balls in his spell. Hardik Pandya chipped in with 2/24 with Arshdeep Singh holding the green army out in the final over defending 18 runs.

Axar (1/11) bowled a tidy couple of overs with Mohammed Siraj (0/19) and Ravindra Jadeja (0/10 in 2 overs) playing the containing role really well.

Mohammad Rizwan was the top scorer with 31 but faced 44 balls in the effort. Fall of wickets at the other end didn't help his cause and tidy bowling made sure India never looked out of the game.

Stay tuned as we return with the post match presentation.
