Milestone
That's it from our coverage of the 16th match in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. An exciting game unfolded between the Proteas and the Netherlands. Time to sign off from our team that brought you all the action - Akshay Bhide, Ninaad Dixit and scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "It was a bit nerve-racking. You have to give the credit to those guys for bowling the way they did and in the batting as well to get to that total. They fought till the end.

It's a game of cricket. They have proved again that they can beat any team. It's not about mental block. They picked up quick wickets in the powerplay and we got under that pressure. But the win just proves that we are moving forward as a squad.

Sometimes, the wins aren't always going to be pretty and convincing. When you look at 110, most of the guys give us a chance. But it squeezed till the end.

It's always difficult. If we compare to the first game, today, there was slightly less sideways movement. We would have loved to get 130-140 and then put a squeeze if we had batted first. With the ball in hand and in the field, we have been pretty good. The energy has been good. As a top-order, we have to take the opportunity and responsibility and get some runs under our belt."
Scott Edwards (Netherlands Captain): "A score of around 110 can totally change the game. Credit to South Africa, they bowled extremely well. Had a nice partnership, the way they batted was amazing.

Its hard to tell. Maybe there was a bit more for them than us. Tough to say how the outfield and the pitch plays.

I think we pride ourselves on playing good tournament cricket. Over the last few years we have found ourselves out of games but guys have stood up.

Right until that last 6 I was backing us, we were one wicket away in tough batting conditions."
David Miller (Player of the Match): "Whole lot better now (How is the heart?). But nice to finish the game. To be honest, a bit of both. The wicket was better than the first game. Credit to the Netherlands boys for hitting the good lengths consistently. We were I guess 24/4. We tried to get some momentum and build it from there.

They were bowling really well. They were hitting the right areas. But we were chasing a low total. What's important is not to get in the shell. You have to keep playing positive.

It does make challenging. We have got over the line with our tailenders before. So, I had the faith in the boys coming in. But after seeing the last ball of the previous over get under the bat, I decided it's time to move on. Feels good to get over the line."

11:22 PM IST, 1:52 PM Local Time: David Miller's match winning 59 off 51 deliveries helps South Africa chase 105 against a tough opponent, the Netherlands to get their 2nd win in as many games in Group D of the T20 World Cup.

South Africa won the toss and put the Dutch to bat first. Netherlands managed just 103/9 as the pacers Ottniel Baartman (career best 4/11), Anrich Nortje (2/19) and Marco Jansen (2/20) didn't let the batters flourish.

Horrible start for SA with the bat with Quinton de Kock getting out without facing a delivery. Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen departed in quick interval inside the powerplay.

Tristan Stubbs (33 off 37) added 65 runs for the 5th wicket with David Miller before Bas de Leede (1/34) removed the right hander to break the stand. Marco Jansen couldn't last longer as well with Miller tasked to finish the job himself.

Killer Miller finished unbeaten on 59 in 51 balls hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes in the valiant effort. Vivian Kingma (2/12) and Logan van Beek (2/21) alongside Paul van Meekeren (0/13) made sure the Proteas had to work hard for 18.5 overs to get to the desired result.

Stay tuned as we get back with the post match presentation and the captains' thoughts on the game.
That's Killer Miller for you. Finishes the game with his trademark slog over the fence in the leg side. He is pumped up after taking his side across the line.
18.5 Leede to D Miller
6 SIX RUNS!! South Africa win a thriller against Netherlands! 130.7 kph. De Leede goes full and outside the off stump, around the wicket. Miller on the front foot swings across the line and whacks this for a maximum over midwicket! What a game for both the sides but it is South Africa who come on top in yet another pressure chase for them in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Fifty for David Miller off 50 balls. He is playing a match-winning knock for the Proteas. He receives a warm applause from his teammates.
18.4 Leede to D Miller
4 FOUR RUNS!! Smashed in the off side! Good length delivery pitching outside the off stump. Goes inside out carving the ball up and over extra cover. A beautiful aerial drive. Long off runs to his right but can only fetch the ball from outside the fence.
18.3 Leede to D Miller
0 A slower bouncer from de Leede outside the line of the off stump, Miller lets that one go behind to the keeper.
18.2 Leede to D Miller
2 Back of a length off cutter outside the off stump. Slaps it towards deep extra cover for a couple of runs.
That's the reason why Miller wanted the strike for the first ball of this over. A six to start the 19th over. The equation is down to 10 from 11 now.
18.1 Leede to D Miller
6 SIX RUNS! Miller with an important boundary! Around the stumps. Back of a length delivery angled back in, pitched outside the off stump. Miller swivels across the line out to deep backward square. No fielder out there, in fact this has cleared the fence! SIX RUNS!!
South Africa require 16 runs from 12 balls. Bas de Leede to bowl the penultimate over.

Logan van Beek ends with figures of 2/21 in his four overs.
