That brings an end to our coverage for this game. It was pleasure to bring you all the updates from this clash. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Raju Khariya. Until next time, cheers and good night.
The Lankan side pose for the photographs behind the 'Champions' board. They win the T20I series by a 2-1 margin.
Wanindu Hasaranga (Player of the Series and Sri Lanka Captain): "Of course, we played really good first two games. Credit must go to the bowlers and even though the batters for the way they played.

We just want to see how they perform. So, we changed the XI tonight. I normally see how our bowlers do. They did a fine job. Dushmantha Chameera will also be coming in after the injury.

Also, a big thanks to all the fans coming to support us."
Ibrahim Zadran (Afghanistan Captain): "Yeah, happy that win the match but unfortunately we lost the series. It was a good total we put on the board and I also said the same at the end of the first innings. We wanted to play positive cricket and carry that momentum till the end.

It was tactical, we wanted to give chances to players who didn't get a chance to play in the last games so before we go to the T-20 World Cup we want to try every player and pick a good combination. We played good cricket but lost by close margins, but today we managed to win and there are lots of positives from this series."
Player of the Series: Wanindu Hasaranga
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Player of the Match): "To be honest with you, it was a hard time for me. I didn't score in the series but today, it was a bit okay.

While practicing yesterday, I was under pressure but I had a talk with my coach. Today, I took a bit of responsibility and it helped me.

I don't mind actually batting first. When I'm having a good day, we can chase. But in this series, we were struggling while chasing. We didn't repeat the same mistakes in the first two games here and managed to win today."

10:39 PM IST, Local Time: PHEW!!! What a game we have just witnessed. Sri Lanka fall short by three runs. A mere three runs. That no-ball call by the square leg umpire will be talked about a long time. But all smiles in the Afghanistan camp for now as they grab a consolation win in the T20I series and finish the tour on a winning note. After losing six straight games on this tour, they manage to grab a win. They beat Sri Lanka by three runs as Kamindu Mendis' heroics with the bat end in a losing cause.

Chasing a mammoth 210, Sri Lanka got off to a perfect start. Pathum Nissanka played some outstanding strokes and he along with Kusal Mendis brought up 50 between them in no time. The pair put 64 for the opening wicket before Mendis (16) fell in the last over of the powerplay. Kusal Perera walked out to bat at three but departed without troubling the scorers. There was no stopping Nissanka as he brought up his fifty off just 27 balls.

Nissanka hurt his left hamstring and retired hurt after scoring 60 off 30 balls. Skipper Wanindu Hasaranga (13) holed out in the deep in the 10th over. Sadeera Samarawickrama and Kamindu Mendis stitched 53 between them before the former got dismissed on 23. Kamindu refused to give up and played some lovely strokes to keep his side in the chase.

Kamindu brought up his fifty off 32 balls and fought hard. Dasun Shanaka (13) was run out in the penultimate over. With 19 required from the last over, Kamindu hit two boundaries in the first three balls. The fourth ball was above the waist but the square leg umpire was unmoved. It resulted in a dot ball. Wafadar Momand held his nerves and defended it successfully. Kamindu's 39-ball 65* resulted in the losing cause as Sri Lanka fell short by three runs.

Earlier, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a blazing start. Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz opened the batting and gave them a flying start. Both made full use of the fielding restrictions and scored 72 at the end of the powerplay. Zazai (45) departed in the eighth over as the 88-run opening stand came to an end.

Gurbaz kept going strong from one end and brought up his fifty. Gurbaz (70) hit seven boundaries and a six before holing out in the deep. It was a short stay for skipper Ibrahim Zadran (10). Azmatullah Omarzai played a very good knock of 31. Mohammad Nabi (16*) and debutant Mohammad Ishaq (16*) remained unbeaten to power their side to 209/5 at the end of their 20 overs. Matheesha Pathirana and Akila Dananjaya picked up two wickets each for the Lankan side but both were on the expensive side.

6 SIX! Mendis ends with a maximum but it's just a consolation six as the hosts, Sri Lanka, fall just 3 runs short of the target! Short of a length into the pitch. Mendis pulls it with a meat of the bat and the ball sails over the deep mid-wicket for a maximum. Afghanistan win by a slender margin of three runs and avoid the whitewash. Also, the first victory for Afghanistan on this tour.
A dot ball. That should be the game for Afghanistan. A legal last ball and Afghanistan will be home. 10 required from the last ball.
19.5 W Momand to K Mendis
0 Full-length on the stumps. Mendis whacks across the line to deep mid-wicket and Mendis denies the single.
A wide signaled by the square leg umpire as it goes well above Mendis' head. 10 required from 2 now.
19.5 W Momand to K Mendis
WD Short of a length banged into the pitch. Mendis pulls but misses. Wide signaled by the umpire.
