So that marks the end of our coverage from the 6th match of SA20 2024 betwee Paarl Royals and Pretoria Capitals. Paarl Royals won the nail-biter by just 10 runs. For now, this is the duo of Saptak Sanyal and Ayan Chatterjee signing off alongside our scorer Paras Yadav. Good Night!
Lungi Ngidi (Player of the Match): "Yes, look the batters did well to set the game for us. Dave and Mitch batted well. I know my lines and lengths and did the job for my team.

It was nerve wracking when Rilee was batting out there, but held my nerves.

Shane Bond told me to bowl straight and bowl slower balls and do the job for my team. I kept it simple out there and got the job done.

I am a PAARL boy now and will help them win the trophy if I can. Unfortunate it had to come at my home ground, but then so be it. Happy to win the game for PAARL Royals in the end."
Lungi Ngidi is the Player of the Match.
David Miller(Paarl Royals Captain)- "We posted good score on the board. We got wickets at the start and then we leaked runs in the powerplay but that's the nature of the game. The pitch was little bit touch slower and it probably did get better. We were really happy with the total we posted.

I am very happy that we have experienced players like Buttler in the line up. We take advice from Jos whenever needed and then our bowlers have executed really well. We are happy because we got what we asked for."
Jimmy Neesham (Pretoria Capitals Captain): "First of all, thanks to the Pretoria Crowd for coming out here and supporting here. It was a tough wicket to bowl. The guys tried hard and David Miller was special for them. We gave away 10 extra runs, but we came out there and gave a good effort out there.

It was a collective effort out there and some things come off and some don't. On another day, we could have won this game. 100% confident that we can come back in the tournament. We played well today by and large.

We have to continue the good work and brush up the ideas and areas to work on and get better in the next game. That's what we have to do. I am confident we can bounce back."
Time for the presentations.
22:53 IST and 19:23 Local Time | The Paarl Royals secured a well fought victory in the close game against Pretoria Capitals. They won the game by 10 runs and this win will surely boost their confidence.

After coming to bat first, the Royals lost Jason Roy for 5 runs. But Jos Buttler and Wihan Lubbe got the innings going with a flurry of boundaries. Buttler got out scoring 39 runs off 23 balls hitting 5 fours and a six. Lubbe got out for 12. After there departure, the onus was down to the experienced David Miller and the youngster Mitchell Van Buuren. They together registered an unbeaten 141 run partnership. Miller contributed 75 facing 42 balls with 8 boundaries and 3 maximums. Van Buuren remained not out for 72 off 40 balls with 7 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Daryn Dupavillon, Adil Rashid and skipper Jimmy Neesham took one wicket each in the innings and everyone in the bowling line up was expensive except Adil Rashid.

Coming to chase the run, the Capitals lost two of their top order batters in the very first over. Philip Salt(0) and Theunis de Bruyn(4) got out by Lungi Ngidi. But the other opener, Will Jacks carried the innings forward with Rilee Rossouw. Together they posted 64 inside the powerplay and the run elevated to 104 after the 10th over. But after registering a 147 run partnership between them, Rossouw perished to Ngidi for 82. He had hit 10 boundaries and 4 maximums in scoring so. Just after his departure, his partner Will Jacks got out for 58. After that, Capitals lost Colin Ingram(1) cheaply. Skipper Jimmy Neesham contributed well for his 9-ball 20 but Capitals would have loved if he could elongate his stay. Corbin Bosch got out to Ngidi scoring 10 and the game went out of Capitals' grab then. When 14 run was required off the final over, Obed McCoy bowled good lines to beat Hardus Viljoen on four consecutive deliveries and sealed the game for his side. Paarl Royals won the game by 10 runs.

Lungi Ngidi was the star of the bowling taking 4 wickets giving 39 runs away. Obed McCoy, Bjorn Fortuin and Andile Phehlukwayo took one wicket each for the Royals.
