In the middle overs, Mendis (32) and Shanaka (34) stitched a 55-run partnership and got the Tigers close to a three-figure total. They were dismissed in quick time, but Howell (16* off 3) played a cameo and helped his side post 126 runs on the board.
The Braves decided to field first and got a couple of wickets fairly early. However, they couldn't keep the squeeze on throughout and leaked a lot of boundaries as the innings progressed. Nabi was the stand-out bowler for the Braves as he registered a three-fer, while Siddique and Tahir got a wicket each.
Coming in to chase a target of 127 runs. The Braves did not have a great start as they lost their top order early. Their scoring never really kicked on, but Asalanka played a Captain's knock and single-handedly dragged the Braves near the three-figure mark.
