Milestone
So, that's it for this game, everyone. We hope you enjoyed this live coverage. Do switch tabs and follow the second game of the day between Team Abu Dhabi and Delhi Bulls which is a much important clash given the context of the playoffs scenario. It gets underway in 15 minutes. For now though, on behalf of Wali Siddiqui and (scorer/analyst) Yogesh Kumar, this is Navjeevan Rajput signing off.
Benny Howell (Bangla Tigers Captain): "Yeah we had to win and ultimately make sure we get those points. That was nice for me to get some runs towards the end, but credit goes to the two Srilanakans in the middle. The Gabriel injury looks bad, and we will have to see if he comes on to play tomorrow if we do play. I think T10 is fast and furious, we have to manage the dimensions of the field, the bowler has to just bowl accordingly, and whatever happens happens. We have a good coach here and a great setup. We will be wearing our yellow watching the next game and hope we get to play tomorrow as well."
Dasun Shanaka (Player of the Match): " Enjoyed batting with Kusal, got to spend some time out there in the middle and felt good. We did our job and we're now waiting for the results to follow. Wicket was good but it stayed low when the spinners came into action. It usually does happen when the tournament progresses. I love this format and I love to express myself more."
18:53 IST, 17:23 Local Time: The Tigers were unable to keep the Braves inside 82 runs to boost their net run rate. However, they do bag the two points from this contest. and move up to fourth. They will now need the Bulls to lose their game to get through to the playoffs.

After being put into bat, the Tigers were provided with a decent start by Utthappa (20). In the middle overs, Mendis (32) and Shanaka (34) stitched a 55-run partnership and got the Tigers close to a three-figure total. They were dismissed in quick time, but Howell (16* off 3) played a cameo and helped his side post 126 runs on the board.

The Braves decided to field first and got a couple of wickets fairly early. However, they couldn't keep the squeeze on throughout and leaked a lot of boundaries as the innings progressed. Nabi was the stand-out bowler for the Braves as he registered a three-fer, while Siddique and Tahir got a wicket each.

Coming in to chase a target of 127 runs. The Braves did not have a great start as they lost their top order early. Their scoring never really kicked on, but Asalanka played a Captain's knock and single-handedly dragged the Braves near the three-figure mark.

Defending their total, the Tigers really had to contain the Braves inside 82 runs to boost their net run rate in comparison to the Bulls. They got wickets at the top and slowed down the Braves. However, they could not keep the Braves skipper quiet who got a fifty against them. Ali was the leading wicket-taker for the Tigers as he got a couple while others apart from Gabriel and Brathwaite got a wicket each.

With that, it's the end of the road for the Braves in this edition of Abu Dhabi T10. The Tigers will watch the next game desperately.
