Commentary

You can't walk in and start playing the strokes freely. You have to adapt to the conditions. You just got to have an open mind while bowling. You just got to be clear and execute. At some stage, you might go for some runs but you just have to accept it and move forward."

7:01 PM IST, 5:31 PM Local Time: The Streak is broken! After three wins, the Delhi Bulls taste their first loss. DJ Bravo's double wicket penultimate over goes in vain as the skipper, Rovman Powell fails to defend 12 runs off the final over.

In pursuit of the chase, Ibrahim Zadran kicked off the chase with back-to-back boundaries against national teammate, Fazalhaq Farooqi. Fellow Afghan pacer, Naveen-ul-Haq removed Ibrahim in the second over and subsequently, debutant, Wasim Akram dismissed Moeen Ali.

A 47-run partnership between Andries Gous (13-ball 20) and Faf du Plessis (17-ball 30) stabilised the ship. However, two quick wickets and the game turned on its head. A special over was witnessed from DJ Bravo in the 9th over where he snapped a couple of wickets and conceded just five runs. With 12 runs needed in the final over, Rovman decided to defend the total himself. Things did not unfurl the way he would've liked to want and a six and a four from Najibullah Zadran sealed the deal for the Morrisville Samp Army.

Earlier, disciplined bowling restricted the Delhi Bulls to 95 in ten overs. Jason Holder starred with a three-fer and he was not the only one to fetch three wickets. Salman Irshad was brilliant with the ball during the middle overs after Moeen Ali, Qais Ahmad and Holder removed the top three within the sixth over.

James Vince and Rovman Powell were the two who looked good with the bat for a brisk period but it was the lower order that failed to do their job collectively.

9.4 R Powell to N Zadran

4 FOUR!!! Zadran makes the Bulls pay for the dropped catch and sees his side home. Powell with a slower delivery on the stumps and Zadran picks it up early as he slogs it into the leg side. Beats the diving long on fielder to his left and collects a boundary to take his side across the line with two balls to spare. With this, the Morrisville Samp Army beat the Delhi Bulls by four wickets.

Long off misses the catch and DJ Bravo is not happy. Bravo and Rossouw looked at each other as they were converging. Finally, the ball landed in between.

9.3 R Powell to N Zadran

2 High in the air and falls in no man's land. Dear me!!!! A slower delivery outside off and Zadran swings hard at it but gets a top edge that flies in front of long off. Rossouw from the deep runs in and Bravo from extra covers runs back but there is no proper calling and the ball falls right in between both of them. The batters complete two runs.

What an effort!! In the deep! But it does not matter as the ball landed outside the ropes despite the hand of Rossouw.

9.2 R Powell to N Zadran

6 SIXXX!!!! Powell misses his mark and Zadran pounces on it. Powell attempts a wide yorker but ends up bowling a low full toss and Zadran hits it through the line in the long off region. Rossouw was interested in it as he leaps to get a hand to it but fails to grab it and to make the matters worse, he parries it over the ropes.

0 Powell from round the wicket angles this one on the pads and Zadran looks to heave it into the leg side but misses. A dot start the last over. 12 from 5 now.

12 runs needed off the last six deliveries. Rovman Powell brings himself out with the ball. Interesting decision. Maybe, he's looking to take off the pace.
