Milestone
So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj, Anirudh Modi and our scorer for this game, Paras. Do stay tuned to our coverage with more exciting T10 action coming up tomorrow!
Angelo Mathews: "I didn't realise that until the announcer came up with it. You don't look for such milestones but if it helps the team win, no better thing. Munro finished it off brilliantly and special mention to Mithun who bowled superbly. We had to bowl and field well. We can still improve in all the three departments. Long way to go in the tournament."
Abhimanyu Mithun | Player of the Match: "Good team effort and we had a decent start but captain and coach had a plan for bowling and we needed to execute it. Everything worked out as per the plan."
Time for the post match presentation ceremony..
So impressive from Angelo Mathews and his team, Northern Warriors as they win by nine runs. Colin Munro did set up the game with a fantastic 36 off 15 balls but the Warriors still had to bowl well if they were going to defend 104!

The start wasn't promising as the Samp Army duo of Andries Gous and Faf du Plessis looked in good touch. However, Azmatullah Omarzai dismissed Gous off the final delivery in the second over and that started a collapse. Jimmy Neesham got the better of du Plessis and Ibrahim Zadran in the third over while the experienced Abhimanyu Mithun accounted for Karim Janat and Jason Holder. At 46-5, things looked difficult for Samp Army before their skipper Moeen Ali started to show his class. Moeen gave his team a chance by bring the equation down to 20 runs off the final over but his opposite number Mathews accounted for his wicket early in the piece. Things continued to get better and better as Mathews dismissed both Basil Hameed and Qais Ahmad off consecutive deliveries to register the first hat-trick of the season. In the end, the Warriors saw through the game by a margin of nine runs to start their campaign on a winning note!
