That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of scorer Chandan Kr Singh. Tata. Bye Bye.
Sam Billings (Dubai Capitals Skipper): “Lot of respect for him (Kieron Pollard). Just chatting about the plans for the next two months.

If you look, in this tournament, it’s all about the trends. But the key area where we struggled was powerplay. I think Adam Hose played beautifully. Tom Banton also played his part well. When wickets are falling at the other end, it’s hard for the batter but he did well. Maybe, we can score big in the upcoming games.

A lot of character shown. The flexibility as well. Everyone loves to have a bowl. Keeping wickets help me assess the conditions and the spinners were outstanding tonight. We had the option to go Richard if there was some grass on the wicket but we went with the spinners.

Look, it’s a different feel as compared to Dubai. This is going to sound ridiculous but it is hard to spot the ball with really black skies. I’m not going to go down to the players if they are going for the catch and dropping it. So, nothing from me.

We have done everything we can and I’ll keep an eye on tomorrow’s game. But I won’t be nervous."
Player of the Match: Haider Ali I
Kieron Pollard (MI Emirates Skipper): “Obviously, in terms of points and table, it’s not important. But winning is a habit and so is losing. We have done well to restrict the opposition to low totals but something is not right with the batting as we have failed to chase them.

Nothing changed much. Two teams have to bat on it and as professionals, we have to do the job done. Just play some safe shots and make good decisions. We played some loose shots and fell away just before the timeouts. I don’t want my guys complaining about the conditions.

You just have to keep doing what we have been doing so far. We have to prepare ourselves. Gulf Giants are a good team and we have to be at our best as they have been playing well."

Biggest Six of the Match: Kieron Pollard
ICYMI, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have qualified for the playoffs. The Desert Vipers, meanwhile, are out of the competition. The Sharjah Warriors will have to win big tomorrow against the Vipers to qualify ahead of the Dubai Capitals.
11:35 PM IST, 10:05 PM Local Time: That’s it. It was spin to win for the Dubai Capitals tonight. They bowled brilliantly throughout the innings and have defended 148 successfully. They beat MI Emirates by 19 runs and get one step closer to the playoffs. The loss won’t hurt the MI Emirates though as they have already booked their place in the first qualifier.

Chasing 148, Kusal Perera scored 11 off six balls at the top of the order before dragging one back onto the stumps. Muhammad Waseem was cleaned up on 11. Andre Fletcher came out all guns blazing and played some wonderful strokes. He lacked support from the other end as Chris Benjamin (1), Dan Mousley (2) and Kieron Pollard (8) fell on single-digit scores.

Fletcher held the innings nicely from one end. He scored 45 off 38 balls but was dismissed in the 16th over. Jordan Thompson fell on 17 and the Capitals bowled beautifully at the back end of the innings and restricted the Emirates to 128/8 to win the game by 19 runs. Haider Ali I and Zahir Khan picked up three and two wickets respectively which helped them defend the total.

Earlier, the Capitals were asked to bat first and they got off to a flying start. Adam Hose and Tom Banton played some outstanding strokes at the top of the order and scored at a brisk rate. The MI Emirates went on a journey inside the powerplay. Hose brought up his fifty off just 30 balls. The opening pair put 88 between them before Hose fell on 51.

Banton scored 37 before holing out in the deep. Banton’s departure led to a collapse. The Capitals never got going and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They got reduced from 116/2 to 131/6 and they lost all the momentum. As a result, they ended their innings on 147/9. Each of the MI Emirates’ bowlers picked up at least a wicket, with Vijayakanth Viyaskanth and Dan Mousley finishing with two each. Their batters then struggled and fell short by 19 runs.

19.6 O Stone to T Boult
1 A low full toss around leg, Boult makes room and pushes it to the left of covers for a single. With this, the Dubai Capitals beat MI Emirates by 19 runs.
19.5 O Stone to V Viyaskanth
1 Shorter in length on the stumps and Viyaskanth mistimes the pull to deep mid wicket for a single.
19.4 O Stone to T Boult
1 Stone goes full outside off, Boult lifts it straight and Kuggeleijn from mid off moves to his right and flies to get a hand to it but fails to grab it. Would have been a stunner if he had held it.

19.3 O Stone to D Bravo
W BOWLED' EM!!! You Miss I Hit stuff from Olly Stone. Bowls it full and straight on the stumps, Bravo makes some room and goes for a big heave into the leg side but connects with thin air. The middle stump is flattened and Stone enters into the wickets column. A lovely sight for any fast bowler and the Capitals are on the brink of victory here.
19.2 O Stone to D Bravo
2 Fuller delivery on the stumps, Bravo swings hard at it and mistimes it straight down the ground. Kuggeleijn from long off runs in and dives to get a hand to it but fails to hold onto it. A tough chance goes down.
