So that marks the end of our coverage from the 13th game of the Super Smash T20 2023-24 between Auckland Aces and Wellington Firebirds. Aces have secured a victory by 53 runs.
For now, this is the duo of Saptak Sanyal and Ayan Chatterjee, signing off alongside our scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Have a good day, CHEERS!
Robert ODonnell(Auckland Aces Captain)- "We did use the powerplay well on this very special day. I am really happy for Guppy. We always talk about putting a few good partnerships and we believed that we will post big totals by those partnerships.

Guptill will not be available for the rest of the games but today with this victory, we have got the confidence. Last couple of games have shifted the momentum towards us and I think that will help the team."
Nick Kelly (Wellington Firebirds Captain): "Yes, two world class players there. We pegged them back, but Guptill showed his class and showed he is the world's best. It was 15 above par and gave away too much runs in the end. Look, we have had 3 wins and sitting pretty nicely and the guys are happy with inclusions and exclusions. The boys are happy with the where we are at at this stage. Hope to bounce back soon."
Martin Guptill (Gamechanger of the Match): "It's been a great day and the kids are here. Great for it. I am not retiring at all. I am certain nervous today. But to contribute and get the win is a great effort by us against Firebirds. The whole lot has been amazing and hope to write home about later. Happy with how the day panned out today and hope to do well. I will be off to IL T20 soon in Dubai. So, hope to do well today."
11:43 IST and 19:13 Local Time | Martin Guptill ends the 'Thank You, Gup' day  on a high note with a win and the big thing is that he contributed to his side's victory!

After coming to bat first, the Auckland Aces openers started the innings well with a few good hits. Finn Allen scored a half century in just 23 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes and got out in the 24th ball of his innings. But the middle order failed horribly. Mark Chapman got out for 9. Robert ODonnell and Sean Solia got out for ducks. Cam Fletcher was also unable to contribute as he scored 12 runs off 17 balls. But amidst all the non-cooperation in the middle, Martin Guptill stood firm. In his last game, Guptill remained unbeaten till the end of the inings and scored 85 runs on the 'Thank You, Gup' day off 52 balls with 5 boundaries and 6 maximums. Danru Ferns scored 17 runs off 9 balls to help his side post 192 run losing 6 wickets after the 20 overs.

Ben Sears took two wickets. Logan Van Beek, Peter Younghusband and Michael Bracewell took a wicket each.

Coming to chase the run, the Firebirds scored 14 runs off the very first over of Ben Lister but Nick Greenwood, Nick Kelly got out cheaply and Tim Robinson got out for 21. Muhammad Abbas scored 32 runs but took 38 balls in doing so and the game went out of the Firebirds' hands there. They were losing wickets and also the run rate in the middle overs was too low to chase down 193. Nathan Smith scored 15 ball 25 but that was not enough. At the end, they got all out for 139 in the third ball of the 19th over and lost the match by 53 runs.

Ben Lister was the star of the bowling picking up 4 wickets. Louis Delport and Danru Ferns took 3 wickets for the Aces.
18.3 B Lister to B Sears
W WICKET! That's the end of the game then! Nails the yorker at the stumps, Sears plays all around it and misses. The ball goes through to clatter the stumps. Sears has to be the last man out as Wellington have been bowled out for 139 in 18.3 overs. It's a win by 53 runs for the home team Auckland Aces today.
Ben Sears, the final man walks in to bat now.

18.2 B Lister to Beek
W WICKET! Full and straight angling in, van Beek looks to go off-side with the drive and misses. The ball gets the inside edge back onto the stumps. van Beek has to depart as Number 9 goes down here for Wellington Firebirds.
18.2 B Lister to Beek
WD Fuller length angling down the leg side and is called wide by the umpire.
18.1 B Lister to Beek
4 FOUR! Short of a length, van Beek pulls it away over the fine leg region as the ball races away to the fence for a boundary. Good lovely shot there.
