Milestone
That's it from the first quarter-final of the Asian Games with India edging out Nepal by 23 runs to advance to the semi-finals. Don't go too far away as the second quarter final is on its way between Pakistan and Hong Kong. Stick around to our network for all other cricketing actions across the globe and across formats. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash alongside scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Yashasvi Jaiswal: "First of all, itโ€™s a different place, a different environment, and a different wicket here, and we are very excited and enjoying playing here. In the beginning, it didnโ€™t look like we would be able to score these many runs, but with the kind of ground this was and the ball traveling very nicely in the air, yeah, it was an interesting game, and we enjoyed it a lot. Ah, I donโ€™t think about my personal milestones but try to keep momentum high for the team, which is necessary. We are trying our best to bring home the gold medal."
9:53 AM IST, 12:23 PM Local Time: A valiant effort from Nepal comes to an end as they have pushed India hard in this quarter final match. Nepal wins a lot of hearts in this game but it is India who ultimately come out on top and breathes a sigh of relief. They win this match by 23 runs to advance to the semi-finals. But it was not easy by any means as Nepal fought valiantly and went down fighting.

Chasing 203 for an incredible win to cause an upset, Nepal gave a good account of themselves and never threw in the towel. Bhurtel scored 28 off 32 balls as he played a lot of shots. Sheikh the keeper batter scored 10. Malla scored 29 off 22 balls. Dipendra Singh Airee gave a good scare to India with his cameo of 32 off 15 balls. Jora scored a good looking 29 off 12 balls. Karan KC had fun out there and scored 18 off 13 balls. Loads of extras given by India as they ended with 179/9 in 20 overs.

Ravi Bishnoi was by far the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/24 in 4 overs. Avesh Khan supported him with figures of 3 wickets of 32 runs in 4 overs. Arshdeep Singh picked up a couple of wickets for 43 runs in 4 overs. Sai Kishore on debut had an impressive outing with figures of 1/25 in 4 overs. The bowlers did their job and only just to win the game for India.

Winning the toss and deciding to bat first, India rode on a magnificent hundred from Yashasvi Jaiswal to power the score forward. His 100 off 49 balls powered India to 200+. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 25 off 23 balls. Shivam Dube played well for his 25* off 19 balls. But it was the finisher Rinku Singh who was in full flow here. He remained unbeaten on 37* off 15 balls and powered India past the 200-run mark. 8 extras given by the fielding side as India ended their 20 overs at 202/4 in 20 overs.

Dipendra Singh Airee picked up a couple of wickets for Nepal while Kami and Sandeep Lamichhane picked up a wicket each for their side. They were taken to the cleaners initially, but gave a good account of themselves even with the ball and pushed India to the limit.

So, India wins by 23 runs to advance to the semi-finals of Asian Games.
