So, that's it from this encounter. Only two balls were bowled in the second innings before the rain played a spoilsport. It's a cruel game at times. Malaysia Women showcased valiant fight against Hong Kong Women earlier to make it to the Quarter Finals. Unfortunately, they will have to return back with unfavorable outcomes.

India progressed to the Semi-Final due to their high seeding.

So, this is me, Arijit Kundu signing off along with co-commentator, Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Stick around to this network for many more cricketing extravaganza.
9:52 AM IST, 12:22 PM Local Time: Rain has the final say. The match has been called off and all smiles in the Indian camp as they progress to the semi-finals.
ICYMI: India will progress to the semi-finals if there's a washout (due to their high ICC ranking).
9:34 AM IST, 12:04 PM Local Time: It is still raining in Hangzhou. Stay tuned. We will keep you updated.
9:14 AM IST, 11:44 AM Local Time: It's pelting down at the moment.
9:06 AM IST, 11:36 AM Local Time: Rain!! Rain!! Interruption once again!! Umpire Natarajan uproots the stumps and the groundsman sprints into the field with the covers. It seems more than a drizzle now.
0.2 P Vastrakar to W Duraisingam
0 Length delivery outside off, Duraisingam cuts at it and chops it to Ghosh behind the stumps.
0.1 P Vastrakar to Hashim
1 Vastrakar starts from over the wicket. Bowls a back of a length delivery outside off and Hashim guides it past the gully fielder towards third man to get off the mark with a single.

9:03 AM IST, 11:03 AM Local Time: Time for the chase. Ainna Hamizah Hashim and Winifred Duraisingam are the openers for Malaysia Women while Pooja Vastrakar will be operating with the ball. One slip in place and we are all set for the action.
8:55 AM IST, 11:25 AM Local Time: That’s the end of the innings. India Women have posted a mammoth 173 on the board after being asked to bat first. Malaysia Women were very poor on the field and were belted all around the ground. They now have an uphill task ahead of them. 20 runs were scored in the last over as the India Women carry the momentum heading into the innings break.

Winifred Duraisingam, Malaysia Women skipper won the toss and opted to field first. The India Women got off to a flying start. Skipper Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma both started aggressively and took on the Malaysian bowlers. They were also helped by some ordinary bowling. Fielding didn’t help the Malaysian Women either as there were misfields and Verma got a life when she was on 18.

Mandhana and Verma brought up a fifty-run stand between them in just 4.5 overs. The Malaysia Women managed to break the opening stand in the last over of the powerplay. The 57-run stand came to an end when Mandhana departed after scoring 27 off 16 balls. Jemimah Rodrigues joined Verma and India Women were 60/1 at the end of 5.4 overs before rain arrived.

After a long break, the play resumed and the game was reduced to 15-overs-per-side. Verma continued playing her strokes and was well-supported by Rodrigues as India Women cruised past 100 inside 10 overs. Verma brought up her fifty off just 31 balls with a six.

Shafali scored 67 off just 39 balls before getting trapped in front of the stumps. Her knock comprised four boundaries and five maximums. Richa Ghosh walked out to bat at number four and hit some lusty blows to power her side a mammoth total. Rodrigues and Ghosh remained unbeaten on 47 and 21 respectively as India Women finished their innings on 173/2.

Mahirah Izzati Ismail and Mas Elysa picked up one wicket each for Malaysia Women but they went on a journey throughout their innings. They will hope that they put an improved performance with the bat in hand. Don't go anywhere as the chase begins shortly.

14.3 M Elysa to R Ghosh
4 FOURRR!! Full-toss outside the off stump. Ghosh frees her arms and opens the kitchen sink at it. The ball flows over the extra cover region and finds the fences in quick time. Some lusty blows from Ghosh at the cue end of the innings.
