11:37 PM IST and 8:07 PM Local Time | That's the end of the match and it ends with No Result due to heavy rain.

Let's have a review of what happened in the match.

After a delay in the start of the game, Sri Lanka Women won the toss and elected to bowl first in the first ODI. For South Africa Women, Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits opened the innings. The duo put on a partnership of 94 runs before Wolvaardt got dismissed for 41 of 57 balls.
Tazmin was then joined by Anneke Bosch in the middle. Again a solid partnership of 70 runs helped South Africa to set the tone for a good total at the end. Although Bosch was dismissed for 39 of 42 balls, Tazmin Brits went on to complete her century and scored 116 of 128 balls. Sune Luus and Nadine de Klerk also contributed towards the end of the innings. While Luus made 22 of 30 balls, de Klerk chipped in for 34 of 22 balls to help South Africa post 270/6 at the end of the 50th over.

For Sri Lanka, Oshadi Ranasinghe, Sugandika Kumari and Kavisha Dilhari picked two wickets each keep the South African batter silent at times.

Chasing a total of 271, Vishmi Gunaratne and skipper Chamari Athapaththu opened the innings for Sri Lanka. They managed to score 23 runs of 6.5 over when the rain interrupted the match. It's now down to the next two ODIs where both the teams will look to put their best foot forward to emerge as the winner of the series.

11:34 PM IST, 8:04 PM Local Time: Rain is very heavy at this stage and both captains shake hands after a chat with the umpires. This Match has been Abandoned due to rain.
10:50 PM IST, 7:20 PM Local Time: Nothing much and new to update from East London. The rain continues to fall and covers are firmly in the ground. The major part of the ground including the square is covered. A lot of water has accumulated on the covers. So, even if the rain stops, it will take time for the ground to get ready. Stay tuned for further updates.
10:23 PM IST, 6:53 PM Local Time: The rain has returned at Buffalo Park and hence the covers are back on the field. The pitch is being covered now and the square will follow suit. Our wait continues.
10:14 PM IST, 6:44 PM Local Time: Live visuals from the ground show that the covers are being slowly removed from the ground. The pitch and square remains under cover.  As we speak, the square covers are being removed now. We are not far away from a resumption of this match.
