So, that's a wrap on this warm up fixture of the Cricket World Cup 2023. Don't go too far away as we will be back with more warm up fixtures of the World Cup tomorrow. Stick around to our network for all other cricketing actions across the globe and across formats. Until next time, I am Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Hitesh Peddurwar alongside scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Bangladesh Captain): "Definitely. This win gives us great confidence. The bowlers did not start off well, but did come back well. The spinners did well especially Mahedi Hasan. With the bat, Tamim and Litton and gave us a good start and solid foundation for the win. I felt I needed to hang in there and think positive and do the stuff. Yes, definitely. We can improve as a team. If we play well as a team we can do well and get good opportunities to do well as a team. We want to continue the good work."
Dasun Shanaka(Sri Lanka Captain):  "I think we wanted to put ourselves under the pressure and wanted to put a score on the board. We had a chance to score big but we failed. After the first powerplay, the ball got softer and it got slow. If we had controlled in the middle overs then we could have scored more runs and in bowling, we need to be good. Like line and lengths using the new ball and swinging the balls, spinners need to bowl on the good areas. It will be difficult, like without having our main players."
Litton Das: "It's a good feeling, we have a good team and we have shown them that we can play good cricket. When you play in this type of condition and it's a world cup warm-up we need to perform well, the wicket was good to bat. The wicket looked good in the first half also, the target like 300 also was normal looking at the ground and out field. The bowlers played first time here, so they will learn quickly."
9:40 PM IST: A dominant performance from Bangladesh as they outplayed the Sri Lankans in all facets of the game to win by 7 wickets with 8 overs to spare. Apart from the first 10-20 overs of the match, Bangladesh dominated the proceedings and deserve this win in this warm up fixture in Guwahati.

Chasing a tricky 264 for the win, Bangladesh rode on a strong start from their openers Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das. The duo put on 131 for the first wicket and Bangladesh never really looked back from there. Litton Das scored 61 off 56 balls while Tanzid Hasan carried on for his 84 off 88 balls. After both fell and Hridoy got out early, it was skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz who led from the front with the bat with an unbeaten 67* off 64 balls. Mushfiqur Rahim was there with him on 35* off 43 balls as the target was achieved in 42 overs. 17 extras given by the fielding side.

It was a tough day in the office for Sri Lankan bowlers. Lots of bowlers used and the wicket-takers were Lahiru Kumara, Dunith Wellalage, and Hemantha. All in all, a tough day for the Lankan Lions.

Winning the toss and deciding to bat first, Sri Lanka got off to a great start but fell away towards the end. Kusal Perera came out all guns blazing and scored 34 off 24 balls before retiring hurt due to a shoulder injury. Pathum Nissanka looked good for his 68 off 64 balls. Kusal Mendis scored 22. Charith Asalanka scored 18. Dhananjaya de Silva held the innings together in the lower middle order scoring 55 off 79 balls. Dimuth Karunaratne coming down the order scored 18 off 27 balls. Dunith Wellalage scored 10 off 14 balls while Hemantha scored 11 off 9 balls. Lahiru Kumara scored an unbeaten 13* off 7 balls. 9 extras given by the fielding side.

The Bangladeshi bowlers bowled well and came back after a brilliant start by the Lankans in the first powerplay. Mahedi Hasan was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/36 in 9 overs. A wicket apiece for Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib. Taskin Ahmed remained wicketless today and so did Hasan Mahmud. All in all, a good performance from Bangladesh today.

So, a win for Bangladesh over Sri Lanka by 7 wickets with 8 overs to spare. Stick around to hear from the two captains.
