Coming in to chase a target of 145 runs. The Mystics openers provided their side with a quick and stable start. Chethan and Aneesh kept finding the boundaries and scored at almost 10 runs per over to keep their side well ahead in this chase. Both batters went on to score a half-century and stitched a 114-run opening partnership. Chethan was dismissed but Aneesh carried on and got his side across the line with 27 balls to spare.
The Dragons threw it away with the bat early on and got bundled out for 144 runs. Defending an under-par total, the Dragons could not get wickets early on or keep it tight. They took a bit of tapping from both the Mystics openers, and it was too late before their skipper Gowtham got a couple of wickets in the 12th over to slow down the Mystics just a bit. However, they couldn't avoid a crushing defeat today.
The Dragons will now wish for the Lions to lose against the Blasters in the last league game coming up next if they are to make their place into the semi-finals.
