That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Do switch tabs as the game between the Shivamogga Lions and the Hubli Tigers begins soon. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and scorer Yogesh Kumar. Bye Bye.
Mayank Agarwal (Bengaluru Blasters Captain & Player of the Match): "It feels very nice. I know we have had a miserable tournament but credit to the boys for showing the fight today.
(On Mohsin Khan) The first opportunity he gets, he puts on a match-winning performance for us. Even if the tournament doesn’t go well, we want players to step up. We have found those but too little too late.
I just said that we have to stay calm. Karthik played beautifully but the only message was to stay calm.
Irrespective of the results, it heartening to see the fans and owners believe in us. He picks up the phone and calls me and tells me to keep believing and glad that we put up a show for him."

4:42 PM IST, Local Time: That’s it. The Bengaluru Blasters register their first win of the Maharaja Trophy 2023. They beat the Mysore Warriors by 10 runs. The tone was set by their skipper Mayank Agarwal who smashed a scintillating ton before their bowlers stepped up to defend the total successfully. The Mysore Warriors suffer their fourth loss of the competition.
The Warriors got off to a sensational start while chasing 213. Impact player Karthik S U who was making his debut for the Warriors played some magnificent strokes and made full use of the powerplay. Runs came from both ends as Ravikumar Samarth also hit boundaries for fun. They put 60 between them in quick time before Samarth fell on 16-ball 35. The Warriors scored 88 at the end of the powerplay, the highest by any team this season.
Karthik continued playing his strokes and brought up his fifty off just 22 balls. Skipper Karun Nair played the role of a second fiddle as runs kept coming from one end, thanks to Karthik’s onslaught. Just when things were slipping away, the Blasters managed to dismiss Karthik. The debutant fell after scoring 70 off just 30 balls, which included six boundaries and as many sixes.
Karthik’s departure allowed the Blasters to storm back in the game. The Warriors lost Lankesh KS (1) and Shivkumar Rakshith (6) in quick succession. Karun Nair struggled to get going and holed out in the deep on 34-ball 32. The lower-order batters tried hard but they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and finished at 202/8 to lose the game by 10 runs. Mohsin Khan was the pick of the bowlers for the Blasters. He registered figures of 4/35 in his four overs. Sarfaraz Ashraf also grabbed two wickets as the Blasters defended the total successfully to win their first game of the competition.
The Bengaluru Blasters won the toss and opted to bat first. They lost Jasper E J (1) early in the innings. Skipper Mayank Agarwal took the matters in his own hands as he led the charge with the bat at the top of the order. He played some beautiful strokes and kept scoring at a brisk rate. He was well-supported by Dega Nischal from the other end. Both put 97 between them for the second wicket before Nischal fell 29.
There was no stopping Agarwal as he brought up his fifty and continued his merry way. Shubang Hegde looked good for his 24 before departing while trying to clear the fence. Agarwal brought up a fantastic ton before falling on 105 off 57 balls in the penultimate over. His knock comprised nine boundaries and six maximums. Suraj Ahuja played a blistering cameo of 35* off 10 balls to power the Blasters to 212/4 at the end of their 20 overs. Jagadeesha Suchith picked up two wickets for the Warriors.
