That's all from our today's coverage of the first T20I between England Women and New Zealand Women. As of now, I''m Gourav Samal signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Deepak Prakash and Ayan Chatterjee and scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Stay tuned for all cricketing actions around the world. Good Bye. Have a good day.
Heather Knight (England Women Captain): "It was definitely pleasing to control with the ball in the middle overs. Really pleased the girls stepped up really well. Yes, definitely. Few players are missing gives us opportunity to see how others go. Lauren Bell led the side well with the ball. Gibson bowled well as well. Few areas to work on and hope to do that in Nelson. I think we could have got to 170+. So, these little things that we have to improve on and hope to do that. Dunedin is shining for us."
Suzie Bates (New Zealand Women Captain): "Yeah, I thought we started pretty well on the power play and to take a couple of wickets and then we struggled to take a wicket through that middle phase and they were able to keep finding the boundary with Knight and Bouchier there.

So, look, I think we've probably learned from how the England bowlers bowled. Their seam is taking pace off the ball, bowling sort of wide and we didn't maybe adjust our lengths and we didn't keep the stumps in play throughout that middle phase.  Yeah, they've got a brilliant spin attack and they always have. And I think it's just been really positive with our options and picking the right lengths to go at. But, yeah, they're a great spinning unit, but they've also got some bowlers who swing the ball up front, so they're a tough opposition."
Heather Knight (Player of the Match): "I think of it as a batter. Just keep it tight and good to contribute to the team. Little bit of a slow start. Pitch was slow and tricky and sitting deep helped as well. Was fresh after a 3-month off and felt good physically and mentally. Yes, good partnership with Maia and ran well between the wickets. It was scrappy out there and happy to get the win and contribute to the team."
Player of the Match: Heather Knight.
08:23 IST and 15:53 Local time | That's the end of the match and England won it by 27 runs.

After losing the coin toss and being sent in to bat first, Tammy Beaumont and Sophia Dunkley commenced England's innings. Their first wicket fell with the score at 27, as Tammy Beaumont was dismissed after scoring 15 runs off 14 deliveries. Dunkley was then joined by Maia Bouchier at the crease. The pair contributed 34 runs for the second wicket before Dunkley was dismissed for 32 runs off 24 balls. Heather Knight entered next to bat. Dunkley, in partnership with Knight, amassed 91 runs, propelling England to a total of 160/4 after 20 overs. Maia Bouchier scored 43 runs off 40 balls, while Heather Knight completed a half-century, scoring 63 runs off 39 balls. Jess Kerr, Fran Jonas, and Lea Tahuhu took one wicket each for New Zealand.

Chasing a target of 161 runs, the New Zealand team lost their initial wicket in the very first over of the innings, as Isabella Gaze departed without opening her account. Following this early setback, Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer formed a partnership, contributing 59 runs for the second wicket before Plimmer was dismissed after scoring 21 runs off 24 balls. Subsequently, New Zealand found themselves at 114/5 in 17.3 overs. Brooke Halliday played an innings of 27 runs from 23 balls towards the end, which helped New Zealand reach a total of 133/5 after 20 overs. However, this effort was insufficient to secure a victory. Suzie Bates emerged as the top scorer in the innings, notching 65 runs from 51 balls. For England, Lauren Bell claimed two wickets and Sarah Glenn secured one, while another dismissals resulted from a runout.
