Milestone
That is the end of our coverage of the game. While the first game in Durban was washed out due to rain, South Africa cruised through the run-chase in a rain-hit game in Gqeberha. The series decider will be played in Johannesburg on Thursday (December 14). We have plenty of games lined up in our network. So stay tuned with us for the cricketing action across the globe.

For now, this is me, AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Akshay Bhide, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya, brought you all the live-action of this massive contest. We will meet again. Until then, it's cheers!
Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "A nice start. It was a bleak about Durban, a disappointing one. The crowd has come tonight and pulled in for this game. It's good to pull off such a performance in front of them.

I thought that the wicket was slightly on the slower side, especially from the batting point of view. The batters would have loved it to be skidding onto the bat. After the rain, it just got quickened up and helped us a bit.

Sometimes you try too much in T20I cricket; if the match-up works, you go with him. But you don't want to keep him for too long as the batter lines him up. The bowlers tried hard and bowled incredibly well. They come up with their own plans.

Reeza Hendricks has been fantastic. He's adopted a bit of a leadership role in the batting. Another brilliant knock from him tonight. Ultimately, you want to pick from players for the World Cup, so from the selection point of view, there might still be a few places up for grabs. Every player is working hard and giving his best. That healthy competition means a lot for us."
Tabraiz Shamsi (Player of the Match): "Yeah. I thought of giving up with that celebration but look the kids on the boundary keep asking me to bring out that celebration and I can’t disappoint them.

It’s about bowling in the right areas with the skills I have. To do it today against India especially tonight was beautiful because I have let down myself in the previous games against India.

He (Suryakumar Yadav) is a wonderful player and to get his wicket was nice. The way Aiden marshalled the boys on the ground was great. He stopped me and brought me back again in the end and the credit must go to him for those bowling changes.

I think the positive and the nice thing is since Rob has come in, the environment has been great. He has allowed the families to come in and join. He has allowed us to be ourselves. Pushing us on the field but allowing us to be ourselves."
Player of the Match: Tabraiz Shamsi
Suryakumar Yadav (India Captain): “I think it was a par score. But they batted beautifully in the first 5-6 overs and took the game away from us.

(On playing fearless cricket) I mean that’s the brand of cricket we were talking about wanting to play. Just play fearless cricket despite losing wickets.

(While defending with dew arriving) It was tough but I told the boys that we are coming out of the comfort zone and these situations can arrive in the future.

The mood is always happy. Full of loud and cheer. I always say whatever happens on the ground, leave it on the ground. Really looking forward to the next game."
12:25 AM IST and 8:55 PM Local Time: A tough start for the series as captain for Suryakumar Yadav as South Africa thrashed India in the rain-hit game by five wickets (with seven balls remaining on DLS) and went 1-0 up in the three-match series with a game to go, as the opening game was washed out in Duran on Sunday (December 10)

Earlier in the game, South Africa won the toss and opted to field first, with the weather around. Marco Jansen (1/39) and Lizaad Williams (1/32) proved the decision of their skipper right by dismissing the Indian openers- Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill for ducks, respectively. Tilak Varma and captain Suryakumar Yadav launched a counter-attack, adding 49 runs for the third wicket. Varma scored 29 off 20 before being the prey to Gerald Coetzee in the penultimate ball of the Powerplay.

Suryakumar Yadav played a captain’s knock, hitting 56 off 36 balls with five fours and three maximums and added a crucial partnership of 70 runs for the fourth wicket alongside Rinku Singh, who, again shone with the bat, continuing his dream run in the International circuit.

Once SKY was holed out at long-off to Tabraiz Shamsi (4-0-18-1) in the 14th over, Team India lost Jitesh Sharma in the next one to the South African skipper Aiden Markram (1/29). Rinku remained unbeaten and smashed 68 off 39 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes. Along with Ravindra Jadeja (19 off 14), the KKR batter added 38 runs for the 6th wicket before Coetzee (3/32) came back into the attack and got quick wickets in the final over to find India to 180/7 in 19.3 overs.

At this stage, the drizzle got heavier, and the umpires took the players off the field. It was quite a delay as Coetzee's hat-trick dream was cut off agonisingly, with the Indian innings curbed off three balls shy of 20 overs.

The chase was reduced down to 15 overs, with the Proteas needing 152 to win. Reeza Hendricks and Matthew Breetzke (16 off 7) slapped the Indian bowlers left, right and centre before a big mix-up between the South African openers ended up with the scarification of the latter in the 3rd over with 42 runs on the board.

Markram (30 off 17) came in at three and continued the momentum as the second-wicket partnership between him and Hendricks (49 off 27) saw 54 runs being scored. Once Mukesh Kumar (2/34) broke this stand in the 8th over, the game turned on its head for a while, with the home side losing a few quick wickets, but a few big hits from David Miller (17 off 12), Tristan Stubbs (14* off 12) and Andile Phehlukwayo (10* off 4) were more than enough to pull off the victory for the Proteas.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation!
13.5 R Jadeja to A Phehlukwayo
6 SIXXX!!! Phehlukwayo wins it for South Africa in style. That's a humongous hit from Phehlukwayo to close out this fixture. The crowd celebrates and all smiles in the South African camp as they go 1-0 up in the series. Coming to the ball, this was a half-tracker from Jadeja and Phehlukwayo isn't going to miss out on this freebie. He rocks back and pulls it powerfully over the square leg fence for a massive six. With this, South Africa beat India by five wickets on the DLS method.
13.4 R Jadeja to A Phehlukwayo
2 Darted in full by Jadeja on the pads, Phehlukwayo steps out and looks to flick it but gets an inside edge in the vacant fine leg region for a couple of runs.
13.3 R Jadeja to T Stubbs
1 Shorter in length outside off and Stubbs cuts it to the sweeper in the off side for a single.
And that should be the final blow on India.
