Well that's all she wrote for today folks! A thrilling encounter resulting in a fantastic victory for Adelaide Strikers Women! Hop onto our coverage of the ongoing India vs South Africa match from the Cricket World Cup!

Until then, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my co-commentator Arijit Kundu, and our scorer/analyst Dushyant Kumar! See you on the next one!
Katie Mack (Player of the Match): "Yeah, pretty nervous at the end. You know, probably going hard isn't probably, you know, normally in my game, so I was just really hoping we'd get off, go over the line there and that I'd scored enough, you know, at the start of the innings to get us there.

[Talking about yellow cap] Yeah, I've never had it, so it's quite nice, especially if you look at the batters at the top of that list. They're world-class, so to be up there with them, I'm pretty proud of my effort so far.

Yeah, I think with opening, I mean, we talked about the wicket actually probably coming on pretty nice, and I think opening, for me, it was just pretty much watching the ball and hitting it and just see what happens and go out with the good intent. So I'm really glad that I took it down and then that we got the win."

3:11 PM IST, 5:41 PM Local Time | Wow! What a game of cricket we have had here and Danielle Gibson's last over heroics have handed the points to Adelaide Strikers! They defeat a valiant Perth Scorchers by 6 wickets!

Perth Scorchers won the toss and elected to bat first,
and they almost found themselves in deep waters when Megan Schutt sent Beth Mooney back for a duck in the very first over. However, the duo of Maddy Darke and Sophie Devine built together a 61 run-stand to stabilize Perth's innings.

Post their downfall, Amy Jones and Nat Sciver-Brunt took the mantle up of guiding their team to a big total. Nat Sciver-Brunt was the star of the show for Perth as she smashed 53 runs off 33 balls on her comeback to WBBL to power her team to a total of 165/7 from their 20 overs. Amanda-Jade Wellington was the pick of the bowlers for her figures of 3/25 from 4 overs.

Come the chase, Katie Mack got the Adelaide Strikers off to a flier. At the end of the powerplay, despite losing Laura Wolvaardt the Strikers' scoreboard read 37/1 after 4 overs. Tahlia McGrath and Bridget Patterson acted as crucial support for Katie Mack who was enroute to a match winning 71 runs off 52 balls to bring her team close to the finish live.

The last 8 balls of this chase were nothing short of Cinema. Devine's intelligence and talent saw her run-out Katie Mack with Adelaide still needing 14 runs off 8 balls. Enter Danielle Gibson, she smashed Ainsworth for 15 runs in the last over to seal victory for her team amidst another run-out and a last ball finish to the contest!

This victory will live long in the memory of Adelaide Strikers Women, while Perth Scorchers Women will be gutted to lose this one in the last over!

Gibson and Patterson scamper for the second run and the stumps have been broken at the bowler's end. The TV umpire has been referred to check it. Patterson is just short of the crease and she is the goner now. OUT is the call on the giant screen.

1W WICKET! Oh my! What a finish to the match we are having here! Full toss, outside the off stump, slaps it to long off and the batters decide to come back for two runs, but Devine is there again with her rocket arm, throws it to the bowler who takes the bails off, the umpires have sent this upstairs for a referral, and OUT is the call!
