The toss was tricky to say the least as we were not sure how that surface plays. Still not sure and I am still figuring out the right combination of players at this stage of the tournament."

Dasun Shanaka (Galle Titans Captain): "We expected the wicket to play well as it was expected a high-scoring game but it didn't play well and also we didn't bat well. We misread the wicket today and kept Shamsi out. We need to play well in all three departments and need to bounce back quickly."

Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Galle Titans were restricted to 133/9 at the end of 20 overs. The Titans got off to a shaky start and kept losing wickets at regular intervals, but a savior innings from skipper Shanaka of 36 runs off 26 balls has crawled them to a respectable total. Dushan Hemantha bagged a couple of wickets for AURA, and the rest of the five bowlers shared a wicket apiece.

In pursuit of the Titans’ 133 runs, Avishka Fernando and Kusal Mendis provided a decent start to AURA as the duo batted cautiously and kept the scoreboard ticking at a decent pace. The opening partnership was inching towards 50 runs, but Lahiru Kumara trapped Mendis for 18 runs and ceased the 47-run opening partnership.

Sadeera Samarawickrama joined Avishka at number three, and the duo pounced on the loose delivery that came their way and scored at a brisk pace in the middle overs. However, Lahiru returned to the attack and provided the Titans with the second wicket, as he clean-bowled Samarawickrama for 25 runs off 18 balls. Kusal Perera departed for a mere 5 runs, but Avishka continued his sublime form and helped his side chase down this total with his well-composed 70* runs off 49 balls.

Galle Titans failed to defend 133 runs and they need to execute the plans well in the upcoming matches. Lahiru Kumara bagged a couple of wickets for the Titans, while Shakib Al Hasan contributed one wicket.
