That turned out to be a thriller of a contest. Aura were hammered around at the backend earlier on by Shanaka, and chasing a record target, they had a shaky start at the top as their openers were sent back to the hut early. Later, De Silva and Perera came together to rebuild the innings for Aura. They stitched a 76-run partnership for the third wicket and were looking well in control.
But the duo was dismissed in quick time, and Aura were slowed down for a bit. However, Ross (39*) found the ropes at the backend, and with decent contribution from the lower-order, he was able to get this game into a super over.
With the ball, skipper Shanaka led the way once again for the Titans as he was the leading wicket-taker registering 3/27 bowling his four overs. Apart from him, Rajitha got a couple of wickets. Rajitha had 16 runs to defend in the final over but leaked 15 runs in it, and the game was dragged into the super over. But Rajitha was asked to bowl the super over, and he delivered this time leaking just 9 runs. In the end, Rajapaksa batting in the super over for the Titans got them across the line with four balls to spare.
