So, rain has the final say in the Adelaide Oval. Disappointing for the fans but not too much actually as you can switch tabs and enjoy all the cricketing action happening in our network.

For now, this is Arijit Kundu, signing off along with buddy co-commentator, Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Cheers and have a good day/evening/night!!😊
🗣️Umpires: "We are calling it off at the moment."
2:57 PM IST and 7:57 PM Local Time: The players shake their hands and its official. The match has been abandoned!! The rain wins the battle after successfully cashing in, leaving the two teams with shared points.
2:48 PM IST and 7:48 PM Local Time: The groundsmen will take at least 45 minutes to get things ready for a five-over-per-side contest. It's still drizzling. Play seems improbable at the moment.
2:22 PM IST, 7:22 PM Local Time: The rain is back and is heavy as one of the broadcasters in the center of the pitch can be seen with the brolly up over his head. It's dark and damp at the moment. The groundsmen can be seen with the raincoats on. The covers are still 🔛. If the rain stops in the near future, we can have only 5-over per side game.
Umpires Nathan Johnstone, Shawn Craig speaking to the broadcasters: "We are just waiting for the rain to clear so that we get ready to take off the covers. If we get the covers off by 8, we may get a five-overs per side contest.

The conditions have really improved in the last hour and if it stays the same, we may get a game. But the radar isn’t looking great. For a five-over game, we need 50 minutes. 20 minutes per innings and five bowlers bowling an over each.

The groundsmen are taking the water off the covers and if no more rain, we can have the bat flip 45 or 50 minutes before the start of play."
1:55 PM IST, 6:55 PM Local Time: It's been almost 30 mins now that there hasn't been rain. But its predicted that the showers are on their way to spoil the party. The groundsmen are quite active with their work at the moment.
Arijit: Second with you mate! The Australian summer is ready to storm the cricketing world. I feel pity for Michael Neser. He has been very consistent in the domestic circuit but does not get as many opportunities as he deserves. And to make a fair point, it is not easy to drop either member of the pace trinity- Cummins, Hazlewood, and Starc. So, maybe this bunch of guys- Neser and Morris has to wait.
Akshay: I'm really excited to see Lance Morris in action. Speaking of him, I would like to see him play the 'West Test' against Pakistan. I know it's hard to come into this Australian unit, especially when the trio of Cummins, Hazlewood and Starc are at their prime but I would like to see the selectors take a gamble and include Morris in the XI. You may never know, he might be the next big thing in Australian cricket 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

How about this trio - Neser, Boland and Morris?
Arijit: Rightly pointed out mate. I won't be surprised if they peak with the progression of the tourney. They seem to have covered most of their bases. They also have one of the rising pacers of Australia- Spencer Johnson. I'm quite keen to see him and Lance Morris aka. 'the wild thing' in action during the course of the competition🤩. What about you? Any particular individual you're excited to watch?
Akshay: Thoughts about Heat? After the thumping win in the BBL13 opener, I feel they are one of the contenders to lift the title this time. After finishing runners-up last year, I feel they will go one step ahead this year, only if the Perth Scorchers don't come in the final 😬😬
Arijit: Good afternoon Akshay and everyone tuned. Things are looking quite bleak for the next few hours despite the brisk stoppage of rain. Coming to the squad of the Strikers, I believe they have more individual performers. The likes of Wes Agar, D'Arcy Short, Ben Maneti, Chris Lynn, David Payne, and Matt Short can steal the spotlight in a particular game. But the players need to gel together as a unit and battle it out. In the long run, I don't see them going too far in the competition.
Akshay: As we wait for the rain to stop, let's welcome Arijit into the commentary box. Hello mate. Not the best of conditions for a game of cricket but let's hope it clears soon and we get some action. The Strikers had a miserable season last year when they managed to win only five games out of 14. Do you feel they have a squad to reach the finals this year, keeping in mind Head and Carey won't be available for most part of the competition?
