Pat Cummins (Australia Captain): "It was great win leading into the semis and chasing a big total. We were not at our best in the first innings. But we pulled it back and was happy to chase it down. There will be a few selection headaches and that is something that is good to have. Let's go to Kolkata and see what we do over there. Marsh was brilliant out there and he was a treat to watch and is dangerous for other sides. We haven't been at our best in this tournament but still managed 7 wins in a row and Maxwell was good for us in the last game. So, all in all happy with where we are and let's look forward to Kolkata."
Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh Captain):"I think for me, the two run-outs were crucial. We started very well but in the middle, we lost momentum due to two run-outs.

We could have easily scored 340 but we needed to bowl well here. The fast bowlers bowled well but we have to improve in the middle overs.

It's disappointing that we didn't play our best cricket in this tournament. We will look forward to improving in the future.

I think Mahmudullah Riyad batted really well in this World Cup. Shakib also played well in a couple of games. But we have to think how we can perform well as a team and try to improve in the future."
Mitchell Marsh (Player of the Match): "Yeah. It feels great. Nice to finish the round games with a win and onto the semis.

I mean I was going to go down to three once Heady came in. I had to tick in the pressure. There were some games in the middle of the tournament where I fell down with intent. There were some failures for me but it was important to learn from them and back myself.

I'm sure my nana and all the family members will be watching it at home. Pops was a great man and he will be enjoying his beer and watching us all. He enjoyed his life and I hope he will be proud of this.

It's going to be a ripper mate. Last week of the World Cup and face South Africa in the semis. Can't wait for it.

None for 50 in four overs. I wouldn't have got Man of the Match for my bowling (laughs). I started with minus fifty but I love my bowling and I'll try to stick with it but nice to get some runs under the belt."
Player of the Match: Mitchell Marsh
6:04 PM IST and Local Time: A clinical chase from Australia as they achieve their highest successful chase in World Cups by winning this game by 8 wickets with 5.2 overs to spare. Steve Smith hit the winning runs but today it was the Mitchell Marsh show and with 50s from David Warner and Steven Smith, Australia are oozing in confidence going into the semi-final against South Africa.

Chasing 307 for the win on a flat deck, Australia lost Travis Head early for 10 runs. But then it was the Mitchell Marsh show as the right-hander blazed away to 177* off 132 balls. He had a partnership of 120 runs with David Warner who scored a nice 53 off 61 balls. After Warner fell, Steve Smith came back into form and remained unbeaten on 63* off 64 balls. The duo of Marsh and Smith shared an unbeaten stand of 175* and never gave Bangladesh an inch. It was the Mitchell Marsh show as David Warner and Steve Smith were just mere spectators and played the supporting role. They got there in 44.4 overs and Bangladesh were never in it to get breakthroughs. 4 extras given by the fielding side.

It was a listless bowling performance from Bangladesh to say the least on a flat deck. A wicket to Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman while Mahedi Hasan was economical despite being wicketless. It was a tough wicket to get wickets but Bangladesh never threatened to take a wicket once Marsh and Smith were set.

Earlier in the game, Bangladesh were put into bat first by Australia. They started well but fell away towards the end. Plenty of starts by the Bangladeshi batters but no one got a big hundred. Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das scored 36 apiece. Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 45. Towhid Hridoy top scored with an elegant 74 off 79 balls. Mahmudullah scored 32 while Mushfiqur Rahim scored 21. Mehidy Hasan Miraz looked good for his 29 off 20 balls. But they fell away to run outs and never recovered. 24 extras given by the fielding side as Bangladesh finished with 306/8 in 50 overs. This is their highest score batting first in World Cups.

Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/32 in 10 overs. He now has 22 wickets in this World Cup. Sean Abbott picked up a couple of wickets while Marcus Stoinis picked up a wicket as well. Josh Hazlewood was economical in his 7 overs for 21 runs despite being wicketless. All in all, a good bowling display on a good pitch as Australia won the game in the end. Three run outs did not help Bangladesh's cause.

So, Australia wins by 8 wickets and finish with 7 wins in 9 games. This is their 7th consecutive win after losing the first two games. Stay tuned for the presentations.
That's it. Australia compete their highest successful chase in World Cups.
44.4 M Rahman to S Smith
4 FOUR! Fuller length and in the slot, Smith lofts it down the ground over mid-on as the ball goes away to the long-on fence for a boundary and those are the winning runs. Smith gets it as Australia wins this game by 8 wickets with 5.2 overs to spare and storm into the semis against South Africa.
