A mouth-watering clash between Pakistan Women and South Africa Women in the WT20 series comes to an end. The Proteas were in the contest for the majority of the period in all three matches but failed to go past the finishing line away from home. This is the start of Pakistan Women 2.0 under the leadership of Nida Dar and they would look to continue this ongoing momentum in the upcoming three-match ODI series.

It’s Arijit Kundu with the finishing job of the coverage and was well assisted by the likes of co-commentators- Ayan Chatterjee, Omkar Iyer, and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned to the network for all other exciting happenings from the cricket planet. Until then, it’s a goodbye from us.

Pakistan captain, Nida Dar receives the Trophy for winning the series 3-0. It's time for the clicks and for all the players to get behind the "Winners" banner,
Nida Dar (Pakistan Captain): “Definitely, it was all hard work. The girls put the hard work in there. Yeah, we had 160-165 in our mind. We were fine with 150 because we know the skills of our spinners and they bowl well. Definitely, we need to work on our fast bowling. We are totally dependent on our spin bowling.

Definitely, we have the right combination of the team. We always wanted to do this. Thanks to each and everyone in the spectators to come and cheer us.”
Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women Captain): "I wanted 150 to chase. Yes, we were in the chase. But they bowled well in the end slower and slower and we lost the plot. We had one or two bad overs that went for two runs, three runs and where we lost it. Frustrating to be in the wrong side of all three results. It was a tight series and plenty to play for in the ODIs with points up for grabs. I would have loved to do more with the bat, but glad I contributed to the team's total and spent some time out in the middle before the ODIs. Looking forward to the ODIs now."

11:14 PM IST, 22:44 | The first-ever WT20 series against South Africa at home and Pakistan manages to compel a whitewash in the series. Brilliant piece of cricketing display throughout the series and Pakistan have clean-swept South Africa and Sri Lanka Women in recent times.

In pursuit of the chase, Tazmin Brits and Laura Wolvaardt started off in a brisk fashion. They mixed the singles with various boundaries and it was Brits who departed early this day. Nashra Sandhu was the one to draw the first blood and soon a 28 runs stand followed between Wolvaardt and Anneke Bosch. The latter failed to get along for long as Sandhu came back and toppled her.

It was the captain that stayed a long way till the 19th over failing to get support from the opposite end. With 32 runs needed from the final 4 overs, two brilliant overs curtailed the equation down to 21 needed off the last two overs.

Wolvaardt was the lone warrior for the South African side and was dismissed in the 19th over trying to smack one over the ropes. Nadine de Klerk, who was there till the end failed to replicate her heroics from the last match. With 13 runs needed from the final over, Diana Baig managed to defend the total with six runs as deficit.

Pakistan were put to bat first after Laura Wolvaardt, the captain of South Africa Women chose to bowl first. The home side reached a total of 150 runs on the back of the thirties from three batters - Sidra Ameen (39), Bismah Maroof(39), and Nida Dar (36).

Shawaal Zulfiqar and Ameen gave a decent start to the side and played through the powerplay. In an attempt to increase the run rate, Zulfiqar got a leading edge back to Nonkululeko Mlaba off her own bowling, which meant the first nail in the coffin. There were brisk partnerships in the middle but none lasted for a long time. Eventually, the captain's 36 off 20 balls helped them propel the scoreboard to the 150-run mark. Tumi Shekhukhune was the pick of the bowlers with a couple of wickets, followed by one each for Mlaba, Nondumiso Shanghane, and Nadine de Klerk.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentations...
