A thriller out of nowhere. This is what West Indies provides one and all. They made a match out of it by keeping India under check. They made it look the average total as a mountain all of a sudden. Brilliant from their bowlers but it was India's match to lose. West Indies had held their nerve and have taken an early lead in the five-match series.

For now, it is AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide, who, alongside, our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya brought you all the live-action of this nail-biting contest. We will meet you in the next game. Until then, it's cheers!
Rovman Powell (West Indies Captain): "It is a very good feeling. We talked last night about starting the series on a positive note and the guys stepped up. I was confident going into the last over because they didn't have any set batter batting in the middle.

After watching the Indians bowl, I thought we were a spinner short. But our fast bowlers bowled into the wicket and got the job done. We always know that the new ball will give us runs. They have very good spinners. So it became important for us to score against the new ball.

The series will be decided on how the West Indies batters play against the Indian spinners in the middle overs. We have got the players like Hetmyer, Pooran who play spin well.

Not just the 18th over but Holder was brilliant in all his over. He was very good with his change of pace deliveries and really happy for him."
Hardik Pandya (India Captain): "Not really I think. We were there in the game throughout the run chase, at least for the most part of it. Obviously, we made a few errors during the last half of the chase. It's a young team. It will only learn from its mistakes.

You know, I have always said that wickets at regular intervals during the run chase will always put you under pressure. That is what exactly happened. A couple of good strokes would have changed the momentum towards us. But that didn't happen. We have to focus on the four good games ahead.

The bowling combination is always seeing the conditions. We wanted Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav to play together. We wanted to give the opportunities to the wrist spinners. Axar Patel alongside gives us a good option with the bat.

Brilliant I mean. Mukesh Kumar has had an excellent two weeks here in West Indies and making debuts in all three formats is very good. He bowled two good overs back-to-back. Tilak was pleasing to see. There is a lot of confidence and fearlessness in the approach. They are gonna show some wonders for India."
Jason Holder (Player of the Match): "We have played enough cricket for the last three years. So I'm trying to get some passage to take a rest and get back fresh.

I was happy that I stuck with the plans. The wicket was helping and I decided to make them hard to score runs. It
(Double-strike maiden over) was certainly the turning point with the game getting close.

It was a low total for us but we knew it will be hard in the second innings. It was a total team effort from us.

I think with the quality they have, you would think they will chase it down. But the conditions were hard and we picked up early wickets to put them under pressure."

11:50 PM IST, 2:20 PM Local Time: West Indies have turned up with a spirited performance defending an average total and have completed a thrilling win against a young Indian set-up!

India didn’t have a great start in the run chase as both Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan were back in the dugout for single-digit scores. Akeal Hosein bowled a tight spell in the Powerplay and accounted for the dismissal of the former. The comeback man Obed McCoy had his contributing, removing the man in form Kishan.

Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma tried to rebuild the innings with a partnership of 39 for the third wicket. SKY scored a run-a-ball 21, while Tilak was fantastic during his stay of 39 off 22 balls. The debutant batter was off the mark with a glorious six and smashed three off them in his maiden international knock.

Once Surya was dismissed by Jason Holder at the stroke of drinks, Indian batters struggled to get going and eventually ended up falling short of the target. Hardik Pandya and Sanju Samson played too many balls without getting their timing right. Both got into the double figures, alongside Axar Patel but they failed to stay long enough in the crease. Holder delivered a fantastic 16th over and picked the wicket of the Indian skipper and saw Samson get run-out, ending up bowling a brilliant maiden over.

Arshdeep Singh showed some glimpses of his batting talent at the fag end of the innings. With 10 needed off the final over bowled by Romario Shepherd, he gave only five runs and saw Arshdeep get run out in the penultimate ball of the match.

A collective bowling performance from West Indies helped them to a 4-run win. Apart from Alzarri Joseph, everyone who bowled chipped in with match-winning contributions. Holder, McCoy and Shepherd picked a couple of wickets, while Hosein ended with a wicket and was very economical.

Earlier, Rovman Powell won the toss and decided to bat first, with Mukesh Kumar and Tilak Varma making their debuts for India. Brandon King was going all guns blazing in the first half of the field restrictions, but Kyle Mayers was struggling at the other end. Hardik Pandya introduced spin early, and Yuzvendra Chahal had an immediate impact dismissing both openers in his first over. Nicholas Pooran came set from the dressing room and took Axar Patel to the cleaners in the final over the Powerplay, taking West Indies to 54/2 in 6 overs.

As Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, too, had an immediate effect on the game and removed Johnson Charles cheaply, with debutant Tilak showing some incredible skills on the field. Captain Powell and Nicky P played a touch cautiously and added 38 runs for the fourth wicket.

Hardik Pandya, after bowling three economical overs, came back in the attack and got the priced scalp of Pooran to push the home side on the back foot. Powell was fighting all alone and had a 38-run partnership for the 5th wicket with Shimron Hetmyer, but Arshdeep Singh dismissed both of them in the penultimate over, restricting West Indies to an average total. Mukesh bowled brilliantly in the death overs and helped India in keeping the Windies below 150.

So, West Indies go 1-0 up in the five-match series! Stay tuned for the presentations!

19.6 R Shepherd to M Kumar
1 A perfect yorker from Shepherd and Kumar only manages to dig it out towards long on for only a single. Brilliant execution from Romario Shepherd and West Indies manage to defend 149. They beat India by 4 runs and take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Can Mukesh Kumar be the miracle man for India?
Okay, that should be it with a ball left in the match. Mukesh Kumar walks into the middle as the final batter for India.
19.5 R Shepherd to A Singh
1W 1 run completed and run out at the striker's end. A low full toss from on the stumps and Arshdeep flicks it towards deep mid wicket. The batters try to run two but there was never a second in it. Hetmyer in the deep stops it on a bounce and throws it to Pooran who collects it and whips the bails as Arshdeep is not even in the frame.
Crucial dot ball. India need 7 runs from 2 balls. Can Arshdeep show what he has done in County cricket for Kent?
19.4 R Shepherd to A Singh
0 A dot ball. A precious one for West Indies. A perfect wide yorker again and Singh swings hard at it but misses. Arshdeep was expecting a wide but the umpire is unmoved as it was just inside the tramline.
11 off 5 balls for Arshdeep Singh and this is his highest T20I score. India need 7 from 3 balls.
19.3 R Shepherd to A Singh
2 Around the wicket, a wide yorker and Singh squeezes it to the right of the sweeper covers for a couple of runs.
India need 9 from 4 balls. Powell has a word with his bowler.
