So, that concludes our live ball-by-ball coverage of the second match of WCPL 2023 between Barbados Royals Women and Trinbago Knight Riders Women where BR-W outplayed their opponent.

Hope you have enjoyed our coverage. This is Saptak Sanyal, taking your leave on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Deepak Prakash and our scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Good night, stay safe and keep CREXing...
Hayley Matthews(Barbados Royals Captain):- "Team contribution pleased me. Our bowlers did really well. You feel happy when your bowlers do good. As a senior player, I do chat with team members before any decision. Our openers respected the good balls and smashed the bad balls and we were off to a good chase. It is a good show here for the Caribbean Women's cricket as they are getting exposures to the International cricketers."
Anisa Mohammed (Trinbago Knight Riders Women Captain): "I don't think that we put enough runs on the board. I think also in our bowling, had we been a bit tighter, would have been a bit closer game at the halfway stage having to defend those 73 runs. We were pretty confident that it was going to go down to the wire. We have quality spinners in our team. We saw in the first half how well the spinners go, but I don't think we hit the right areas.

Yeah, I think so. I think we have a mix of senior and junior players. Unfortunately, today we missed our captain and also Prendergast, who is an integral part of our team, and hopefully, we have them for the next game. Yeah, I think as a spin unit, I think we should have gotten a lot more wickets. I don't think we bowled the right pace and the right lines and lines as well."
Erin Burns (Player of the Match): "Yeah, look, I think it was definitely a spinner's wicket as we saw Amanda-Jade Wellington did incredibly, literally turning it square. So I think we were just trying to give it enough chance to really get it up there and get the players trying to hit down the ground. And, you know, I kind of think it went our way.

I think coming from Australia, we don't have too many left-handed batters, so we always licking my lips when I get to bowl a lot to a lot of lefties.

Yeah, I think in these competitions, you just take your opportunities when they come and I think today, obviously, the girls did the work and it was pretty easy to kind of finish it out there. We had a lot of time, but the other game, it was neck and neck until Laura Harris came out and bombed many boundaries, which again, kind of took the pressure off us, finishing off at the end."

03:25 IST and 17:55 Local Time | Barbados Royals Women secured a very convincing victory over the defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders Women by 6 wickets and with 57 balls to spare.

After choosing to bat first, TKR-W found themselves in a position to be not happy about. They lost wickets at regular intervals throughout. For them, only Kycia Knight registered a two digit score and every other batters were failure.

For Barbados Royals Women, Erin Burns was the highest wicket taker with her three wickets. She removed Kycia Knight, Kyshona Knight and Mignon du Preez cheaply. Amanda-Jade Wellington took two wickets by removing Lee-Ann Kirby and Zaida James. Throughout the innings, TKR looked very unsettled and got bundled out for 73.

Coming to chase the low score, Hayley Kirsten Matthews and Gaby Lewis started off really well and smashed boundaries at their will. They posted an opening partnership of 40 in just 23 balls to start the chase on a good note. After that, Gaby Lewis continued to anchor the run chase and scored a good run a ball 27.

Although BR-W lost quick wickets early, they were never in a place to bother. Erin Burns and Chinelle Henry batted really well in the last phase of the match. Henry scored a couple of boundaries and Erin Burns ended the game with a huge six over long on.

In the end, we can conclude that TKR-W was completely outplayed today and BR-W registered a big win to gain confidence for the rest of the tournament.
