That brings us to the end of the coverage of the match between Nepal and UAE from the World Cup Qualifier 2023. It was Nepal's day today as they sneaked away with a victory. Hope you liked our ball-to-ball coverage of the match.

Do join us for all the upcoming games from all around the globe. For now, it's me Harsh Shukla signing off along with my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya, and scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur ... Until then stay safe...and keep CREXING.
Rohit Paudel (Nepal Captain): "Happy with the win. Yeah, it was a tough battle. We were under pressure in the second innings before Airee and Lamichhane got us home. We did brilliantly with the ball and it was great to see we bundled them out.

Overall, happy with the way we have gone so far. We need to learn to play short balls. We will go back home and practise more and more playing short stuff. Yeah, it was a wonderful day and hope we give a tough fight against Ireland, a Test playing country before signing off."
Vriitya Aravind (UAE Captain): "Honestly speaking it was a great game of cricket. With 180-odd runs on the board, our bowlers gave their all putting them on the back foot. We were playing with four fast bowlers and they did really well. Nepal were playing an extra batter and that's were they gave us a tough fight and eventually beat us.

Junaid Siddique is a great asset a captain has on his side. He has been good for a few years now. Jawadullah is quite unorthodox and this is where he troubled Nepal. Overall, our boys played pretty well but Nepal played better than us.

Hehe, this clash between the two nations has become an El-Classico! Isn't it? The rivals on the field and friends off the field. We will get back strongly despite losing five on the bounce in the next game against USA."
Dipendra Singh Airee (Player of the Match): "I have already played an innings 85 in Nepal earlier and this one is as great as that one. Hence I would rate both as best knocks. It is a great opportunity for us playing against Test playing nations and these stronger sides. We don't usually get the opportunity to play against these countries and hence it is a special occasion for us.

We (Airee and Sandeep Lamichhane) were just discussing how to play against particular bowlers and they just came off for us. He (Monty Desai) gives a good confidence to all of us. His decision in the dressing room is a good one. He gives the belief in us to achieve the unthinkable. He sets the role writing down which batter will bat at which number. So a great staff to be involved in the dressing room."
4:31 PM Local Time, 8:01 PM IST: Nepal defeat UAE by 3 wickets and makes their place in the seventh-place play-off final. After losing early wickets quickly it was the innings of Dipendra Singh Airee finishing the match for Nepal.

Nepal chose to bowl first after winning the toss earlier in the day. Both teams altered their starting lineups by three, with UAE resting their captain Muhammad Waseem and asking Vriitya Aravind to take the helm. Asif Khan was dismissed by Karan KC for a silver duck in the second ball, giving Nepal the early advantage. Afterwards, the second wicket was joined by Aryansh Sharma and interim UAE captain Vriitya Aravind for an additional 64 runs.

Rohan Mustafa (35 off 56) and Basil Hameed (29 off 35) put up a 58-run stand for the fifth wicket to provide resistance from the batting side. However, Karan KC bounced out earlier to start a significant collapse in his second spell. Within the 47th over, UAE collapsed after losing their final 6 wickets for just 26 runs. Both Lamichhane and Karan KC had outstanding days for Nepal, finishing with figures of 10-3-23-3 and 8.5-0-36-3, respectively. Gulshan Jha, Pratis GC, and Airee all contributed a wicket in support of their star bowlers.

In the run chase, the whole innings was architected by Dipendra Singh Airee who played a fabulous knock of 79 off 85 deliveries. The penultimate partnership between Airee and Sandeep of 76 runs made the whole match for Nepal. Initially after losing two wickets in the powerplay overs Nepal fought back in the middle overs.

Kushal Bhurtel opening the inning for Nepal played a rock-solid inning of 35 runs in 59 deliveries. It was Muhammad Jawadullah's fabulous bowling performance that forced the Nepal batters to toil hard. He took out three of their batters and gave only 46 runs in his 10-over spell.

In the end, it was Airee's innings that became all the difference in the game. Nepal defeat UAE by 7 wickets.
43.2 A Naseer to Airee
4b FOUR BYES!!!! It doesn't matter how they come until they come. Airee will take it as Nepal win a thriller at Takashinga Sports Club. A low full toss outside off. Airee misses the drive on the outside edge and the keeper fails to collect it as well allowing it to go through his legs for a boundary as byes! Dipendra Singh Airee walked in when Nepal were 55/5 and now he has taken his side home with three wickets in hand. Stunning knock under serious pressure. Nepal set the date with Ireland in the seventh place play-off final on June 4th.
43.1 A Naseer to S Lamichhane
1 SCORES ARE LEVEL! Over the wicket. Hard length outside off. Lamichhane opes the bat's face and guides it down to deep backward point for a single.

42.6 J Siddique to Airee
0 Just two runs off this over. Nepal need a couple of runs to seal the deal. Good length delivery at the off-stump. A solid block off the back foot back at the bowler. A brilliant 10 overs spell comes to an end as Siddique finishes with 1/20.
42.5 J Siddique to Airee
0 Yorker at the stumps. Airee gets forward and flicks it on the full to the man at short mid-wicket.
42.4 J Siddique to Airee
0 Good length delivery around the off-stump. Airee defends it back at the bowler.
42.3 J Siddique to Airee
0 Yorker outside off. Airee goes for a drive but it sneaks under the bat to the keeper. An appeal for a catch by the keeper but the umpire is having none off it.
42.2 J Siddique to Airee
0 Good length delivery around the off-stump. Airee punches it to mid-off.
42.1 J Siddique to Airee
2 Over the wicket. Nepal are getting closer and closer here with this brace. They need only 2 now. Back of a length into the pitch angling in at the batter who controls the pull to the right of the man at deep backward square leg. A slight fumble in the deep allows the batters to come back for the second. TV umpire checks for a short run but Airee was well over the crease before turning back for the second.

0 A dot to end the over and Nepal are one boundary away from the win. Short of a length at the off-stump climbing on the batter. Lamichhane hops and fends it away off the splice of the bat. It pops up and falls way in front of backward point.
