That brings us to the end of the coverage of this fantastic encounter between the Zimbabwe and Oman. Zimbabwe has sneaked away with the victory today.

Do join us for all the upcoming games from all around the globe. For now, it's me Saipavan Janaki signing off along with my esteemed co-commentators Hitesh Peddurwar and  Deepak Prakash, and scorer/analyst Ashok Dayma. Until then stay safe!!!
Craig Ervine( Zimbabwe Captain): "Very relieved, it was a tough game of cricket for us today and we won. I thought that 280-290 was going to be a good total. But we figured out that the wicket was very good. Thanks to Williams innings we scored 332. The wicket did seem different in the morning, but our bowlers missed our lines and lengths, and that made it easier for the Oman batters. Bowling second we have to look at 320-330. We have been playing good cricket, so we don't need to change much. Today was a tough day, but we played extremely well. Days like these take energy out of you, so we need to rest and come back stronger against Sri Lanka. Thanks"
Zeeshan Maqsood( Oman Captain): I will start from starting, we didn’t do well while fielding, dropped catches, and were sloppy. Gave 30-40 runs extra. Second half Prajapati and Atiq played very well, we lost too many wickets in the middle phase of the chase and that’s why we couldn't finish it off. We knew there was a long and short side, that’s what we were targeting. Between 35-45 overs, we messed it up. It’s a hamstring injury, I need to go to the doctor and have it checked for the future game. If I didn’t get the injury at that moment maybe we could have chased."
Sean Williams( Player of the Match): The pitch was pretty well and it was slow in the morning and it was challenging against the seamers. Running between the wickets was the key. When we were bowling, it flattened towards the end of the day. Credit to our bowlers, they bowled pretty well. It puts pressure on the bowlers, when you show intent, it works in your favour. I thought 270 would be a good score when I saw the wicket in the morning."
08.55 PM IST, 05.25 PM Local Time | That's it...Zimbabwe maintained their dominant form and secured a first victory in the Super Six, propelling them to the top of the table. They showcased their prowess in batting, bowling, and fielding, ultimately defeating Oman by a margin of 14 runs. It was a comprehensive performance by Zimbabwe, reaffirming their strength in all three departments of the game.

Earlier in the game, Oman won the toss and elected to bowl first. Zimbabwe made a cautious yet resilient start to their innings with openers Craig Ervine and Joylord Gumbie, building a steady partnership. Oman's skipper missed an opportunity when he dropped Gumbie, but the opener couldn't capitalize and was dismissed later. Sean Williams and Wessly Madhevere joined forces but the latter struggled to find his rhythm before getting out.

Sikandar Raza's arrival boosted Zimbabwe's innings as he formed a crucial partnership with Williams, scoring valuable runs. Williams played a brilliant innings, smashing a remarkable 142 runs before getting out. Luke Jongwe provided a late flourish with a quick cameo. Zimbabwe's total reached a commendable 332 runs, thanks to their strong middle-order performance.

Oman's fielding let them down as they dropped important catches and leaked easy runs. Fayyaz Butt stood out with an impressive 4-wicket haul.

Oman made a solid start in their chase of 333 runs, with Kashyap Prajapati and Aqib Ilyas Sulehri laying a strong foundation. They built a partnership of 83 runs for the second wicket, displaying a positive approach and maintaining a steady run rate. However, Aqib Ilyas Sulehri's dismissal at 45 broke the partnership.

Zeeshan Maqsood joined Kashyap Prajapati, and they continued to steer the innings with a 44-run partnership before Maqsood retired hurt. Kashyap Prajapati played a magnificent inning, smashing a century and becoming the top scorer for Oman with 103 runs off 97 balls. Ayaan Khan also contributed crucial runs with a knock of 47 off 43 balls. However, despite their efforts, Oman kept losing wickets at regular intervals, and their chase fell short as they posted a total of 318 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

The Zimbabwe bowlers put up a commendable performance, with Blessing Muzarabani and Tendai Chatara leading the way with three wickets each. Richard Ngarava chipped in with two wickets, while Sikandar Raza claimed one wicket. Their combined efforts restricted Oman's run chase and ensured victory for Zimbabwe.
