That’s a wrap from our side as well. Sri Lanka secure their Super Sixes qualification along with Scotland and Oman from Group B. I hope you enjoyed our coverage. For now, this is Deepak Prakash signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee, and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. CHEERS!
Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka Captain): "Everything is going in the right direction. We could have performed better with the bat towards the end. Perhaps the aggressive batting from myself and Wanindu didn't yield the desired results in the latter part of the game.

It is crucial for us to rise to the occasion in such circumstances. During his captaincy and participation in the ODI series, there was different team composition. He possesses extensive experience, having played ODI and Test cricket for numerous years. He is the perfect individual to lead the team from the top of the batting order. We need to consider both options - providing opportunities to the players on the bench and accumulating points for the Super Sixes.

Chameera holds the key to our progress in the next round. We are adapting our game plan according to the prevailing conditions. With the experience our players possess, I have great confidence in my team. Irrespective of the situation, we always strive to give our best."
Andrew Balbirnie (Ireland Captain): "Yes, I think we would have liked to get more runs on the board and then failed with the ball and bat. Mark Adair Barry McCarthy bowled well and kept the score down. Yes, their spinners bowled well and bundled us out. I think that's what happens. We are really disappointed with this result as we came here to qualify for the World Cup. it did not happen as we were not good enough. I think we have to look and see how we go about. Any game is a motivating factor for me in the World Cup. So, the team will look forward to the game against UAE and the other upcoming games. Thank you very much."
Dimuth Karunaratne  (Player of the Match): "Not at all. Just want to contribute to the team. I will go for the big one if I get the good start. So, that's what the team expects from me. There is something in it for the pacers. I played the ball to the merit and took on the spinners later on. I want to apply the same technique that I applied in Test cricket. Just time the ball and run hard between the wickets. I was nervous in the 90s since I did not get my ODI hundred before. Yes, happy to get the hundred and it feels like a monkey off the back for me. Happy to contribute to the team always."
Dimuth Karunaratne has been awarded the Player of the Match.
7:14 PM IST, 3:44 PM Local | Deepak: Sri Lanka extended their winning streak by defeating Ireland by a commanding margin of 133 runs, securing their qualification for the Super Sixes stage. Along with Sri Lanka, Scotland, and Oman also advanced from Group B. Unfortunately, Ireland suffered their third consecutive defeat, which resulted in their elimination from the Super Sixes. This outcome is undoubtedly disappointing for Irish fans, as it means that Ireland will not be participating in the upcoming World Cup. Wanindu Hasaranga completes his 3rd 5-wicket haul in a row.

After being put into bat first, Sri Lanka posted a competitive total of 325 runs in 49.5 overs against Ireland. Dimuth Karunaratne led the charge with a magnificent maiden ODI century, scoring 103 runs off 103 balls. Sadeera Samarawickrama provided valuable support with a solid knock of 82 runs. Despite a collapse in the lower middle order, Dhananjaya de Silva's unbeaten 42* helped boost the score. Ireland's bowlers put up a mixed performance, with Mark Adair taking 4 wickets and Barry McCarthy claiming 3.

Ireland's chase of Sri Lanka's formidable total got off to a rocky start as they lost Paul Stirling early, with just 6 runs to his name. However, Andy McBrine and Andrew Balbirnie showed resilience and started to build a partnership. Unfortunately, their progress was halted when Rajitha dismissed McBrine, who could only manage 17 runs.

Ireland faced a setback as they began losing wickets in quick succession. The team suffered a major blow when their captain, Balbirnie, was dismissed. Additionally, Tector's wicket fell, putting Ireland in a precarious position with half their side back in the pavilion, having reached a mere 86 runs in the 17th over.

Amidst the struggles, Curtis Campher provided a glimmer of hope for Ireland with a brief but attacking cameo in the middle. He launched an assault on every ball, displaying his aggressive intent. However, his innings came to an end when Theekshana managed to halt his progress at 39 runs.

Unfortunately for Ireland, the middle overs witnessed a massive collapse as wickets fell in quick succession. The team faced a significant batting crisis and was eventually bowled out for a total of 192 runs.

Coming to bowling now, Wanindu Hasaranga wreaked havoc with the ball and bagged his 3rd 5-wicket haul in a row. Maheesh Theekshana chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara, and Dasun Shanaka contributed one wicket to Ireland's downfall.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation....
