That's it from our coverage of the second T20I as New Zealand take an unassailable 2-0 lead against Sri Lanka. Ninaad Dixit here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Megh Mandaliya and scorer Dushyant Kumar. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Lea Tahuhu (Player of the Match): "Yeah, really happy with that. We talked about how the fast bowlers can be effective here. There have been a lot of learnings and playing in some different conditions. We had to adapt quickly and we have done that nicely."
Lea Tahuhu is the player of the match
Sophie Devine (New Zealand Captain): "Lea Tahuhu was brilliant on a spin friendly wicket. A pace bowler picking up a couple of key wickets was really crucial. In batting Suzie played the anchor and Amelia played around her so amazing all round performance.

The wicket was reasonably slow. Bringing in Fran and having a plenty of overs of spin was certainly a nice thing to have as captain. They need to perform and they have done well today."
Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka Captain): "118 runs are not enough to defend. We need at least 140 to defend in these conditions. I also got out early and that can be the main cause of losing today. Our bowling department did a good job today but unfortunately, the batters committed some mistakes. Yeah, the series is gone but we will try to play some positive cricket in the upcoming games."
1:04 PM: New Zealand win the second T20I by 8 wickets with 8 balls remaining. A clinical performance both with bat and ball as the Kiwis faced no trouble to first win the toss and restrict the Lankan Lionesses for 118/6 in their 20 overs with Lea Tahuhu picking up 4/21.

Chasing a modest total, there was a threat of rain but thankfully the rain gods stayed away in the second innings allowing New Zealand to cruise through to the total. The openers Bernadine Bezuidenhout (24 off 21) and Suzie Bates (52 off 53) added 48 for the first wicket with Kavisha Dilhari removing Bezuidenhout in the 9th over.

Bates then continued her stylish batting alongside Amelia Kerr (33* off 33) adding 59 runs for the second wicket but threw her wicket with just 12 runs to get lining up a big hit against Inoka Ranaweera.

Skipper Sophie Devine stepped out at 4 and added 5 runs staying unbeaten to take the White Ferns to victory. Ranaweera (1/28) and Dilhari (1/22) picked up a wicket apiece but were costly. New Zealand will wrap up the tour with the third and final T20I to be played on Wednesday.
18.4 S Kumari to A Kerr
1 In the air and safe! That will be it for New Zealand to take an unassailable lead in the series. Tossed up and outside off, Kerr launches it down the ground. The ball lands between long on and long off with the latter doing the mopping job. The batters get the required single.
The scores are level now.
18.3 S Kumari to S Devine
1 Full on the middle stump, knocks it down to Kavisha Dilhari at long on.
18.2 S Kumari to A Kerr

18.1 S Kumari to S Devine
