That’s a wrap from our side as well. Thank you for joining us from all around the globe. This is Prince Suman signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Saipavan Janaki and Megh Mandaliya. Scorer / Analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Do join us for the other fixtures across the globe. Until then, Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.
Litton Das collects the trophy from Nazmul Hassan, the Bangladesh Cricket Board president and the celebrations have begun for the hosts.
Litton Das (Bangladesh Captain): "I'm incredibly pleased with how well my guys played under such circumstances! Our batters deserve praise, especially Shanto and Zakir for the way they batted! The bowlers, especially the seamers, performed a fantastic job. We trust our top-notch bowlers to get the job done for us."
Najmul Hassain Shanto(Player of the Match): " First of all very happy to win this match and a very good game. Yeah, We were talking about the record after I got to the hundred, he said welcome to the group. It's a very good opportunity for the batter to bat on such a wicket and happy to see the bowlers too. As I need to perform in all the formats."
Najmul Hossain Shanto is the player of the match.
Hashmatullah Shahidi (Afghanistan Captain): "Yeah, feeling good. Just had a scan and it's all clear. Yes, it didn't go in our way from the start of the game. But we also had some positives. Nijat Masood bowled really well. We were also playing Test cricket after a long break. We will learn and improve as much as we play in Test cricket."
12:13 PM IST | Time for the post-match presentation...
11:45 AM IST | So, an unfortunate way to conclude an absorbing Test match. Zahir Khan has decided he won't be able to bat any further as the players are walking off the field. It has been a resounding victory for the Litton Das-led side as they defeat the visitors by a whopping 546 runs. Bangladesh have dominated the Test match in all the departments and they thoroughly deserve this victory. This is Bangladesh's biggest victory and the third-biggest victory in terms of runs in the history of Test cricket.

Let's quickly give you a recap of the match. After being invited to bat first, Bangladesh lost their first wicket early in the form of Zakir Hasan in the second over of the innings when the team score was just 6 runs. Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Najmul Hassain Shanto glued a mammoth partnership of 212 runs for the second wicket. However, Rahmat Shah broke this partnership when he took Joy's wickets. Shanto got to his brilliant century as he scored 146 runs from 175 balls. Afterward, they lost the wickets in regular intervals and their team was bundled out for 382 runs. From a bowling point of view, Nijat Masood was the pick of the bowler as he scalped 5 wickets, Yamin Ahmadzai extracted a couple of wickets and Zahir Khan, Amir Hamza, and Rahmat Shah extracted a solitary wicket each.

In response of 382 Afghanistan got off to a worst start as they lost 4 wickets in quick succession. Afterward, Nasir Jamal alongside Afsar Zazai took charge to rescue their team and stitched a 65 runs partnership for the 5th wicket. However, their progress was halted when  Mehidy Hasan Miraz bowled  Jamal for 35 runs. Afterward, Afghanistan fell like a pack of cards and was bundled out for 146. Hossain was the pick of the bowler as he scalped 4 wickets, while Mohammad Shoriful Islam, Taijul Islam, and Miraz extracted a couple of wickets each.

Bangladesh didn't impose follow-on.
With 236 leads Bangladesh started their second innings. They got early jitter in the form of Hasan Joy when the team score was 18 runs. Zakir Hasan scored 71 runs and Shanto continued and became the second Bangladeshi batter after Mominul Haque to get a century in each innings. He finished up with 124 off 151 balls. We also saw a welcome return to form for Mominul Haque as he remained unbeaten on 121* off 145 balls. This is his 12th Test ton and a century after 26 innings. The skipper Litton Das got amongst the runs and scored 66* off 81 balls before Bangladesh finally declared their innings at 425/4 after 80 overs setting Afghanistan an improbable 662 runs to win.

Faced with a mammoth target of 662, Afghanistan got off to the worst possible start losing Ibrahim Zadran to Shoriful Islam on the first ball of the innings and they burnt a review as well. Abdul Malik followed suit as he fell to Taskin Ahmed. Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi got to 13 off 14 balls before he coped a blow on the back of the helmet off Taskin and walked off the field retired hurt. Bangladesh ended the 3rd day at 45/2 after 11 overs.
Rahmat Shah and Nasir Jamal resumed the innings today but Afghanistan's struggle continued.  Ebadot Hossain got the first breakthrough this morning as he trapped Jamal behind the wicket and the wickets started tumbling down for Afghanistan. Karim Janat comes at no 8 and tried to score some quick runs but Taskin Ahmed bowled him for 18 runs. Unfortunately, the ball hit Zahir Khan on his elbow and he looked in some serious pain and has to retire out, and with this Bangladesh registered the victory by a margin of 546 runs.

From a bowling point of view,  Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers as he scalped 4 wickets, while Shoriful Islam extracted 3 wickets. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Ebadot Hossain extracted a solitary wicket each.

Stick around for the post-match presentations…….
We have a short pause in play! Zahir Khan gets it on his elbow and treatment is going on. Zahir Khan cannot bat and thus the players are walking off the field. A big victory for Bangladesh!

32.6 T Ahmed to Z Khan
0 Over the wicket. Short of a length delivery darted outside the leg stump, Khan once again shuffles towards the leg side and ducks underneath that but the ball keeps a tad low. Khan gets tangled up and wears that on his elbow. That was a nasty blow as the physio sprint out in the middle. Khan has retired out and Bangladesh emerge victorious in this Test match by a massive margin of 546 runs.
32.5 T Ahmed to Z Khan
0 Fuller and darted into the middle stump line, Khan bends low and carves that to point for a dot.
32.4 T Ahmed to Z Khan
0 Another full toss angled into the leg stump, Khan makes room and steers that to backward point for a dot.
The umpire is checking the height of the ball. Oh dear, it's above the waist height and no ball was signaled by the umpire.
32.4 T Ahmed to Z Khan
NB BOWLED 'EM! This time there won't be any need for DRS. A high full toss on the middle and off stump, Khan bends low and looks to hoick that across the line but misses that as the ball rattles the stumps. Oh dear, the third umpire reckons it was above the waist height. It's all happening here. What drama! Taskin had completed his five-wicket haul twice in this over but couldn't get any rewards on both occasions.
32.3 T Ahmed to Z Khan
0 EDGED AND GONE! Back of a length delivery and outside off, Khan makes room and looks to punch that away but gets the outside edge and the keeper makes no mistake. Hang on, there Ultraedge detects there is no spike and Khan survives.
32.2 T Ahmed to Z Khan
4 FOUR! That was nicely played by Khan. Fuller and darted into the middle and leg stump, Khan makes room and squeezes that into the gap between backward point and gully for a boundary.
