That's a wrap on our coverage of the first ODI where Australia were dominant over the West Indies. Both teams will be back on Thursday for the next ODI at Junction Oval in Melbourne. Join us for that game and for all other fixtures across the globe and formats, stick around to our network for all the live action.

For now, it is time to bid adieu. So, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Anirudh Modi alongside scorer/analysts Ghanendra Singh Thakur and Vishnu Verma. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Shemaine Campbelle (West Indies Women Captain): "It was all about putting the runs on the board and trying to create pressure. The girls were good in the field but need to get runs on the board I feel. We were ok with the ball and field but not good with the bat. We need to get back to the drawing board and come back stronger hopefully on Thursday."
Alyssa Healy | Player of the Match and Australia Women Captain: "A little bit of each column, if I can contribute with a little bit of each then I've done well. It was not easy at all, it was tough for the 10-12 overs if we just hang in there and we were able to cash in but they tested us with the new ball and made it really hard.

Little bit of patience with the ball, the wicket and conditions were conducive but they had to be disciplined with the lines and they got the rewards, looking ahead to Melbourne. It's coming more from me but everyone is chipping in and that's great to have those conversations, the more ideas the better."
8:46 AM IST, 1:16 PM Local Time: Ellyse Perry finishes things off in style as Australia round off a comprehensive 8-wicket win over the West Indies. They have outplayed the visitors in all facets of the game and deserve this win at the Allan Border Field. The hosts go 1-0 up in the 3-match series.

Chasing a paltry score of 84 for the win, Australia started cautiously before switching gears to get the win. The openers Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield put on 57 for the first wicket. Healy top scored with 38 off 36 balls. Phoebe Litchfield scored 16 off 28 balls before throwing it away. Ellyse Perry came in and scored an unbeaten 20* off 13 balls while Beth Mooney was with her on 6* off 12 balls. 7 extras were given by the fielding side as the chase was completed in 14.5 overs.

A very low score to defend for the West Indies. Still they got a couple of wickets. A wicket apiece to Fraser and Karishma Ramharack. They tried their best, but had too less of a total to defend.

Earlier in the game. West Indies Women were put into bat first by Australia Women as they walked out without their original captain Hayley Matthews and that really hurt their chances today one felt. The innings of West Indies never got going as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Stafanie Taylor scored 12 while skipper Shemaine Campbelle scored 14. Aaliyah Alleyne showed tremendous resistance out there and fought her way to get 35 off 39 balls. But the rest of the batters fell for single digit scores. 7 extras were given by the fielding side as West Indies were bowled out for 83 in 27.3 overs.

The Australian bowlers bowled with great discipline and control. Kim Garth was the pick of them with figures of 3/8 in 5.3 overs. A couple of wickets apiece for Ashleigh Gardner and Georgia Wareham. A wicket apiece also for Darcie Brown and Megan Schutt. Annabel Sutherland missed out in taking a wicket. All in all, a great bowling performance as the Aussies were clinical today.

So, a win for Australia Women over West Indies Women by 8 wickets with plenty to spare as they take a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series. Stick around for the presentation ceremony.
