Danielle Wyatt(Player of the match): "Yeah, it was a beautiful pitch to bat on and Maia took the pressure off me at the start, she was hitting the ball pretty well. Yeah, we have been doing test match prep, and I was available for this game, obviously, I wanted to play the match and do my best for the team. For me, it's all about keeping the basics right and changing the mindset while we play the shorter format."

Georgia Adams (Southern Vipers Skipper): "Yeah, that was excellent. Danielle Nicole Wyatt and Maia Bouchier at the top were sensational and got us off to a good start. Really good team performance as well. It was a good wicket and I thought we bowled pretty well. It was a brilliant semi-final. They were going pretty well and we never felt like the game is done and dusted. Yeah, we will recover and go again in one hour."
Eleanor Threlkeld(Thunder Skipper): "Yeah, It was a good pitch, credit to the way Maia and Wyatt batted. They posted a good total and we failed to chase it down, and I just think we were beaten by a better team today. Yeah, I was questioning my decision of bowling first, our bowlers bowled pretty well to restrict them to 190 odd runs.
We were happy with the total to be honest at the halfway stage but we failed to execute our plans. Yeah, I think their innings showed that when we build in a good partnership in the middle it's difficult to stop and we missed that today. Yeah, I am proud that we have got into the final stages of the league after getting to a bad start, obviously disappointed with the loss today."

7:24 PM IST | The reigning champions Southern Vipers have defeated Thunder by 18 runs to set foot in the Final of Charlotte Edwards T20 Cup 2023. Thunder kept grinding away till the end but it was skipper Georgia Adams who held her nerves in the last over and cruised the Vipers to the summit clash of the tournament. It was a clinical performance from the Vipers and they will now face the Blaze in the Final.
Chasing a competitive total of 192, Emma Lamb started the Thunder innings on a positive note with a boundary off the first ball but Anya Shrubsole soon got her revenge and dismissed the right-handed Lamb 4(3) in the first over. Fritha Morris then joined forces with Liberty Heap and went all guns blazing inside the powerplay.

Heap and Morris stitched a quick 45-run partnership for the second wicket before Linsey Smith cleaned up the right-handed Heap for 15(12). The left-arm spinner Smith then dismissed Morris 36(25) and gathered momentum for the Vipers. Deandra Dottin portrayed her pyrotechnic abilities before the right-hander holed out in the deep for 24(14) at a crucial juncture.
Thunder were tottering at 84/4 when Sophie Ecclestone and skipper Eleanor Threlkeld soaked up the pressure and added 42 runs for the 5th wicket. Ecclestone was fortunate enough to be dropped a couple of times and the right-hander shed a glimmer of hope in the Thunder dugout by orchestrating a crucial 33(23). Following the wicket of Ecclestone, Thunder were unable to accelerate the innings and they fell 18 runs short of the target eventually.
Earlier in the day, after being invited to bat first, Danielle Nicole Wyatt and Maia Bouchier powered the defending champions to a cracking start. Both the right-handers toyed with the field inside the powerplay and kept the scorecard ticking swiftly. Bouchier was the primary aggressor in the partnership and took the aerial route while Wyatt kept maneuvering the ball into the gaps.
The Southern Vipers aggregated 50 runs off the powerplay and both Wyatt and Bouchier went on to notch up their respective half-centuries. Wyatt and Bouchier stitched a massive 108-run opening partnership before Mahika Gaur provided the desperate breakthrough to Thunder by dismissing Bouchier for 56(32). The departure of Bouchier did not cease Wyatt’s progress as she continued her onslaught in the middle overs.
Skipper Georgia Adams was unable to capitalize on the laid foundation as Olivia Bell 5(6) had the better of her in the 15th over. Bell attained the huge scalp of Wyatt 76(50) in the same over and that was followed by two more wickets in quick succession to turn the tide of the contest. Olivia Bell’s fantastic four-wicket haul (4/37) restricted the Vipers to a score below 200, which was easily achievable at one stage.
