That's it from the series winning 2nd ODI for the West Indies against UAE. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer Yogesh Kumar. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Johnson Charles (Player of the Match): "Definitely getting a man of the match award is a special feeling and that means you have done something special for the team. I am happy with my performance and happy with the win. Selection is left to the management. I will play my role. I will try to score runs and add more value on the field. The rest is left to the team management. Going hard at the bowlers was a game plan. One of us had to go and it was me today. It is hot and sunny back in the Caribbean and it is the same here. The conditions were slightly better than the previous one. There was a bit on offer for the bowlers early on and we needed to cope with that."
Shai Hope (West Indies Captain): "Yes, as they say, a win is a win. Yeah, I first thought we dictated what the conditions are here. The openers did well. King got a good knock and Charles also batted well. There wasn't a lot of swing on offer. Jordan found a little and got success. We need to keep on performing. The lads need to be consistent and this is a good learning curve moving ahead. Credit to their batters to play throughout. We bowled well but failed to get the wickets. We shall see about the team changes for the next game."
Vriitya Aravind (UAE Vice Captain): "It is a crime to get out after getting a start like this. Last game I got 40, this game 30 so hopefully will get a big one in the next game and contribute towards the team's success.

100%. The way Ali Naseer is batting in this series is unbelievable. His first series out here and he is scoring 50s for fun. He was good and Basil played good today so I think good confidence for us carrying in the next game.

Its unreal. Coming in the set up as young as him and scoring fifties against a quality team like West Indies is impressive. he bowling department has been doing well especially Zahoor towards the end. We have an important tournament coming up in Zimbabwe and we want to be well prepared."

1:42 AM IST: West Indies has got an unassailable 2-0 lead against UAE in this 3-match series winning the 2nd ODI by a healthy margin of 78 runs. After the openers and Odean Smith along with some handy contributions from the middle order helped Windies to put up 306 on the board, the bowlers did a commendable job to restrict the lesser experienced UAE team below the total. The hosts although did a fantastic job getting all the 10 WI wickets in the first innings.

The unsuccessful chase began on a bad note as UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem failed again falling on 6. Youngster Aryansh Sharma struggled and somehow made it to 20 before falling to Odean Smith. Vriitya Aravind got a start again but failed to make it big with the spinners Kavem Hodge and Roston Chase picking some wickets and keeping UAE quite in the middle overs.

Basil Hameed (49) and Ali Naseer (57) got together and added 80 runs for the 6th wicket, the partnership making sure that UAE survived all their 50 overs, the only department they were better than the visitors tonight.

West Indies bowlers bowled brilliantly through the innings with Roston Chase (2/49) and Kavem Hodge (2/46) picking up a couple of wickets. Odean Smith was economic and chipped with a wicket. Yannic Cariah (1/38) also stood out with his variations with debutant Akeem Jordan (1/36) getting rid of Waseem and bowled 2 brilliant maiden overs in his 8-over spell.

Stay tuned for the post match festivities.
