2:55 AM IST, 5:25 PM Local Time | Well that's all she wrote for today folks! West Indies with a 1-0 lead in the 3 match ODI series! Join us back tomorrow for all the LIVE cricket coverage!

Until then, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my co-commentator Deepak Prakash, and our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya! See you on the next one!
Shai Hope (Player of the Match & West Indies Capain): "Really happy to play the way I did today and more importantly win the game for the country. You always have a lot more time than you think in ODI cricket, and that stuck with me, and I always backed myself and our team to win from any position.

He was amazing, and he is always amazing, we are starting the series on a high and we hope we can win the next one too. The openers played very well, we have to improve in certain areas, we had a few mishaps in the field and we will put in work for that but great to start off with a win.

It was nice to see them take responsibility, both are quality players and it's great to see them getting the runs and we want to keep this consistent."
Jos Buttler (England Captain): "Yeah, I think fantastic game of cricket. I think a lot of credit goes to Shai Hope. They left a lot to do and they they played really well at the back end there to chase those runs down.

Yeah, I thought it was a fantastic batting effort. I love the intent the guys came out with at the top. They really set the tone for us. They managed to peg us back a little bit. We found the wicket a bit tricky in the middle phase. I thought they bowled well and slowed it up a bit, but I thought it was a fantastic effort to get to that score and it needed a special innings to chase it down.

Yeah, of course. You always want to play well and it's been a little while now since I've played my best, so I need to just keep working hard and trust it'll come back.

Brilliant game of cricket, credit to Shai Hope and Shepherd, it was fantastic hitting and we’ll learn a lot from that. We did some things well, lot to take out of it, we’re looking forward to the next."

Time for the post match presentation..
Sam Curran's 9.5-0-98-0 is the most expensive spell in his ODI career.
Hope now has more ODI tons in a run chase than Viv Richards and  Greenidge

Most ODI tons in a  run chase by West Indies.
12- Gayle (150)

Akshaya: West Indies begin their long-term redevelopment with a magnificent run-chase. The hope of the team as always lies on the shoulder of Captain Shai Hope. It's the captain and vice-captain who see the team home by smashing the "New Era" of England.
This is Highest successful run chase for the West Indies in the Caribbean.
2:38 AM IST, 5:08 PM Local Time | Shai Hope leads his team to a thrilling victory in the series opener! West Indies come out victorious against England by 4 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in this 3-match ODI series! A performance to remember for the ages!

England won the toss and elected to bat first,
Phil Salt and Will Jacks looked to be in the mood in the early exchanges with the duo stitching together a 77-run opening stand, before both openers fell in back-to-back overs to halt England's momentum heading into the middle stages.

Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett carried on and after Duckett's downfall, Brook joined Crawley to build a 71-run stand for the 4th wicket before a disastrous mix-up in the middle saw Crawley miss out on his half-century by a couple of runs.

However, Harry Brook carried on, top scoring for his team enroute to 71 runs off 72 balls before Romario got his wicket. Curran and Carse provided the late innings charge, with both players playing valuable knocks to power help their team to 325 all out at the end of their 50 overs.

All West Indies bowlers got atleast one wicket with Romario, Motie and Oshane Thomas picking up a couple each. It was a bad day for Romario economy wise as he finished with the figures of 2/77 from his 10 overs.

Come the chase, West Indies got off to the best possible start with the opening-duo of Athanaze and King registering a 104-run opening stand to give the middle order a solid foundation to build the chase on.

Athanaze eventually fell for 66 runs off 65 balls and King followed his partner back after a couple of deliveries. Hope had arrived at the crease and West Indies looked under pressure for the first time in the chase. Starts from Hetmyer and Keacy Carty were not enough as Hope carried on his valiant knock to hold up one end.

After Rutherford's dismissal, it was time for redemption for Romario Shepherd as the beast blazed away to a quick-fire 49 runs off just 28 deliveries to bring West Indies within touching distance of victory.

Shai Hope brought up his century and the victory in style shortly thereafter, staying unbeaten on 109 runs from 83 balls to take his team over the finishing line! Rehan Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers with 2/40 from his 10 overs but despite his best efforts, West Indies scratched, clawed and eventually smashed their way to a fantastic win today!
Carnage, absolute carnage from Hope and he seals the deal for his side with 7 balls to spare. West Indies chased down a mammoth 325 runs, and this is their second-highest successful chase in ODI cricket.
48.5 S Curran to S Hope
6 SIX! And that's it! Hope with a hat-trick of MAXIMUMS to win the game for his country! Short of a length outside off. Curran bangs into the pitch and gets it to bounce a bit. Shai Hope is watching like a hawk as gets on the top of it and muscles it cross-batted. The sound will tell you the story as the cork sails over deep mid wicket for a maximum.
Shai Diego Hope, remember the name. The skipper is leading from the front and brings up his 16th ODI ton in the style. This is Shai Hope's fastest ODI century out of 16 centuries.
48.4 S Curran to S Hope
6 SIX! Hope carries West Indies' hopes all the way to the brink of the finish line with a match-winning century! Length delivery, on the stumps, smokes it over deep mid-wicket for a MAXIMUM to reach his 16th ODI Hundred!
