Sandeep Warrier: "It's a terrific win, the batters batted very well and played their role very well. He(Ajitesh) has worked hard for this, he always wants to contribute to the team and he is doing that effectively. Obviously, the team's morale is high. We have played good cricket whole throughout the tournament. I spoke to the boys and told them to be positive and play to win the match. They (Madurai Panthers)have played the tournament very well, meeting them again in the playoffs will be very interesting. We need to work on our basics to stay in this tournament."

Nellai won the toss and elected to bowl first, and after a delayed start the decision proved to be great as the pacers picked up two quick wickets to leave Trichy reeling at 8/2 after 3.2 overs. It looked like a mountain to climb for Trichy but Jamal had other ideas.
The swashbuckling right hander came in and exploded after the second rain break. He ended up scoring 96 runs off 53 balls that included 6 boundaries and 8 maximums to power his team over the 145 run-mark. Trichy put up a total of 146/6 from their 19 overs.
We were interrupted for a third time before the chase began, the target was reduced to 130 runs from 16 overs by way of DLS. The Nellai openers provided an emphatic start to the chase with a couple of boundaries and Nellai never looked back.
They chased the total down in under 12 overs, thanks to Ajitesh who smashed an unbeaten 56 runs off just 29 deliveries and other batters who played crucial knocks to win this contest with 8 wickets in hand!
