Arun Karthik (Nellai captain): "Before this competition, we did our homework. We were quite thrilled that it worked out tonight after preparing for these circumstances. Nidhish Rajagopal required 8 stitches, thus there was no plan; when I was discharged, Ajitesh was supposed to arrive. It was like watching an IPL game; excellent if more games are like this. One of the greatest TNPL games in history. Because of the manner he practices, he batted for two hours yesterday and keeps getting better [against Ajitesh]. He has opened in first-division cricket as well. When he bowls, Poiyamozhi takes wickets and hits the ball far. As we have witnessed in inter-district cricket, he knocks the ball far.

Earlier in the game, Nellai Royal Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first. Kovai Kings started the innings with Sachin B and J Suresh Kumar, but they lost the early wicket of Sachin(0) in the second over. But the credit goes to J Suresh Kumar and B Sai Sudharsan, these both took the team off to a good start.

J Suresh Kumar and B Sai Sudharsan. The duo took charge after the first wicket and progressed their partnership in the middle and glued a solid partnership of 66 runs in 46 balls.

B Sai Sudharsan was the top scorer as he scored 90 off 52 balls including 7 fours and 4 six before departed. While his partner, Suresh Kumar walks off at 33. Shahrukh Khan played a small cameo of 17 off 8 balls before departing in the 19th over and his team to a respectable total of 181 runs.

M Poiyamozhi was the pick of the bowlers for Nellai Royal Kings as he scalped three wickets. While A Ramsingh Sonu Yadav guided a wicket.
