Milestone
That brings an end to our coverage for this game. This is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my commentator Prince Suman and scorer Chandan Kr Singh. Until next time, cheers and goodbye.
Narayan Jagadeesan  (Chepauk Super Gillies captain): "The bowlers deserve praise, especially Harish, Rahil Shah, and Silambarasan who performed admirably. The credit for our bowlers goes to them since the pitch was good. Rahil Shah bowled with a lot of sidespin and the ball turned a lot. We had a clear plan in place. Pradosh Paul should not have the opportunity to bowl, I hope. Hemang is a complete professional on the pitch, but he is a whole different person off the pitch. We genuinely adore him. As captain, the views he offers me are extremely helpful, and he has remarkable insight."
Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore (iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans Skipper): "I feel 140-150 would have been a good score here after we lost wickets. But we were at least 30 runs short tonight. It was a better batting performance from us as compared to the last game. We just have to play proper cricketing shots. It can help us score 45 inside the powerplay. There have been similar players in the squad and hence the confusion regarding the batting order. We have a break now and hopefully, it will help us."
Harish Kumar (Player of the Match): "I've been putting in a lot of practice over the past month. have done a lot of work with coach Hemang and Arun. It aided me that the wicket was a little sticky. The hard length was to be bowled and mixed with the cutters. I've been putting a lot of effort into improving my fitness while also learning a lot."
Player of the match: Harish Kumar
Power catch of the match: Sundararaman Radhakrishnan
Super four award: Baba Aparajith
Super six award: Baba Aparajith
Baba Aparajith: "We bowled well today, we wanted to bat first, and we were brilliant in the batting powerplay, so I believe we are following the process. We didn't let up, played our shots after a steady start and the 30- to 35-run threshold. Anyone on the team has a chance to help us win. He'll have Rajagopal Sathish's body scanned, so we'll just have to wait and see."
10:20 PM IST: That's it. The Chepauk Super Gillies beat the iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans by seven wickets. Another comprehensive win for them as they make it two in two in TNPL 2023. The Tamizhans' struggles continue as they were completely outplayed tonight and suffered their second loss of the competition.

Chasing 122, the Super Gillies had a decent start, with Narayan Jagadeesan and Pradosh Ranjan Paul looking good at the crease. Both played some good shots up front. Jagadeesan scored 13 off 9 balls before getting cleaned up in the fourth over. Baba Aparajith joined Paul, who continued playing his shots from the other end as they scored 40 at the end of the powerplay.

Paul scored 25 before getting stumped in the ninth over. That brought R Sanjay Yadav on the crease and he along with Aparajith kept the required run rate under control. Yadav played some fantastic shots before holing out in the deep on 22. Aparajith made sure that the Super Gillies get across the line as he remained unbeaten on 46 to help his side chase down the total in 15.4 overs with seven wickets in hand. S Ajith Ram bowled beautifully for the Tamizhans and finished with figures of 2/15 in his four overs but it wasn’t enough as they failed to defend the total.

After opting to bat first, the Tamizhans didn’t have the best of starts as they lost their top three batters inside the powerplay, with 24 on the board. The Super Gillies bowled beautifully and didn’t allow the Tamizhans to get away in the initial part of their innings. Sundararaman Radhakrishnan along with Vijay Shankar led the recovery work for the Tamizhans.

Both Radhakrishnan and Shankar kept the scoreboard ticking and pounced on anything loose. Both put 58 between them before Radhakrishnan fell on 36 in the 15th over. Shankar also departed on a run-a-ball 28 while trying to up the ante. The Super Gillies bowled beautifully but Rajendran Vivek played a good cameo of 26* off 18 balls to take his side to 120 at the end of their 20 overs. S Harish Kumar and Rahil Shah picked up two wickets each for the Super Gillies.

Stick around for the post-match presentation.
