So, that's a wrap up on proceedings of Match 25 of the CPL 2023. We will be back soon with more cricketing actions across the globe in our network across formats. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Megh Mandaliya alongside scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors Captain): "Look, they had a good start and we came back well in the game. We have a unit to come back in the game. All the boys bowled well and brought things back and Motie bowled well. Great to see the opening partnership doing well and playing everywhere, you need game time for everyone. Good to see Nandu doing well and taking his opportunity. We want to improve our performance and bowl second here and how we do with the wet ball and dew. We want to win and test ourselves. I want to thank my team for the win and thanks to the crowd for supporting us always. They are our lifeline. Thanks guys. Happy with the win, but we will challenge ourselves."
Brandon King (Jamaica Tallawahs Captain): "Yeah, tweaked my groin while I was batting. It started to feel worse as the game went on. I will get some treatment for the next few days. The pitch was not easy to bat on. I guess 170-180 would have been challenging. We also did not start well with the ball. Credit goes to their openers. I wanted to bat deep so It was disappointing to get out. I mean we have to analyze the game. We know what the problem is, we know what the issues are, and if we can correct that we will have greater chances of winning."
Saim Ayub (Player of the Match): "Yeah, it's a match-winning innings. I make sure whenever I score, it favors the teams. Yeah, the surface was difficult. You have to choose bowlers for this pitch. You cannot hit every ball for a six. You have to assess the pitch. Matthew Nandu is a talented youngster and played a fabulous innings. Yeah, we are enjoying but the goal is to win the final."
7:45 AM IST, 10:15 PM Local Time: Another comprehensive win for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in front of their home ground as they thrash Jamaica Tallawahs by 7 wickets with 9 balls to spare. They have outplayed their opponents in all facets of the game and now with this win, they guarantee themselves of a top-2 finish for the playoffs. A lot of work to do for the Tallawahs going forward.

Chasing a modest target of 153 for the win on a slightly tricky pitch, the opening pair of Saim Ayub and Matthew Nandu set it up for the home side with a 112-run stand for the first wicket and that was the game for them. Nandu on debut scored 37 off 35 balls. But it was all about Saim Ayub as the southpaw scored his 3rd consecutive fifty in this year's CPL. He anchored the innings and scored a brilliant 85 off 53 balls before being dismissed in the end. Shai Hope remained unbeaten on 16* and Odean Smith came in and scored a boundary off the only ball he faced and finished things off for the hosts. They got there in 18.3 overs. 12 extras were given by the fielding side.

Nothing much to talk about the bowling effort from the Jamaica Tallawahs point of view. Chris Green and Salman Irshad got a wicket each while Springer on debut bowled a good spell and picked up a wicket for 23 runs in 4 overs. The rest of the bowlers went wicketless today.

Earlier in the game, Jamaica Tallawahs were put into bat first by the Warriors skipper Imran Tahir. The visitors rode on a brilliant innings from skipper Brandon King who scored 52 off 32 balls to give them the start and charge ahead. But the others stuttered in the middle. Alex Hales went early while Kirk McKenzie scored at run a ball 13. Imad Wasim struggled for his 18 off 26 balls. Brooks scored 10 off 12 balls. Raymon Reifer scored 20* off 14 balls while Fabian Allen scored 21* off 14 balls in the end to remain unbeaten and take the score beyond 150. But it was never going to be enough. 9 extras given by the fielding side.

From the bowling point of view, Dwaine Pretorius picked up a couple of wickets while Romario Shepherd, Imran Tahir and Gudakesh Motie picked up a wicket each to their name. Imran and Motie were very economical with the ball. All, in all, a good performance by the Warriors.

So, the Guyana Amazon Warriors win their 7th consecutive game this season while the Tallawahs have now lost 5 games in a row. The Tallawahs have some work to do while the Warriors and TKR are assured of a top-2 finish. Stay tuned for the presentations.
18.3 I Wasim to O Smith
4 FOUR! That will do it for Guyana Amazon Warriors. They continue their unbeaten streak in the tournament with another convincing victory. Fuller on the woods, Smith advances down the track and drills that straight down the ground as the ball races away for a boundary. The Amazon Warriors defeat the defending champions by 7 wickets.
18.2 I Wasim to S Hope
1 Good length on the woods, Hope knocks that to long-off for a single.
18.1 I Wasim to S Hope
4 FOUR! Nicely played by Hope and he takes the Amazon Warriors closer to a victory. Fuller on the leg stump line, Hope makes room and goes inside out over extra covers as the ball races away for a boundary after a couple of bounces.

17.6 S Irshad to A Khan
W CHOPPED ON! The slower delivery does the trick for Salman Irshad. Back of a length delivery and outside off with the pace being taken off. Azam Khan looks to slash that away but the ball keeps low after pitching. He gets the inside edge as the ball rolls back and crashes onto the stumps. Azam departs for 1 as the home side loses their 3rd wicket now.
17.5 S Irshad to A Khan
0 Another good bouncer on the top of middle and leg stump line, Azam drops his wrists and lets it go to the keeper.
17.4 S Irshad to S Hope
1 Short of a length and around off-stump, Hope takes a little shuffle across and whips that to deep square leg for a single.
17.3 S Irshad to S Hope
0 A sharp bouncer on the top of middle stump, Hope ducks under that.
17.2 S Irshad to S Hope
2 Back of a length and outside off, Hope rides the bounce and slaps that to mid-off, who dives to his left and saves some runs for his side. A couple of runs have been taken.
17.1 S Irshad to S Hope
0 Over the wicket. Good length outside off, Hope defends that back to the bowler from the backfoot.
