So, that's a wrap on the proceedings. Thank you for staying with us for all the live updates that we brought you. Until next time, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash alongside scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
6:17 AM IST, 8:47 PM Local Time: We have got bad news for you. The match has been abandoned due to wet outfield. Extreme conditions and unfit conditions meant that the umpires decided to call off play after having a chat with the captains. So, match has been abandoned.
6:03 AM IST, 8:33 PM Local Time: The match officials are out in the middle and had a chat with the captains. Faf is discussing something with his coach Darren Sammy. The boundaries have been brought in a bit (70m straight and 60m square on both sides) due to damp areas near the boundary edge. We are still waiting for the official updates.
4:44 AM IST, 7:14 PM Local Time: The umpires are not convinced with the outfield conditions, and the next inspection is scheduled at 8:15 PM Local Time (5:45 AM IST)
4:32 AM IST, 7:02 PM Local Time: The match officials are out there in the middle for the inspection.
Pitch Report (Nikhil Uttamchandani): "We will check the pitch and really and truly, it's quite perfect. I mean, one of the best in the region, and it stayed dry under all the covers. But I want to show how comfortable it is and perfect, really, it is. Hard, firm, ready for cricket, of course, but over there is the concern. Right here is the run-ups. Very firm. I'll jump. It was never a good fast bowler in my day, but from my small understanding, I think it could be all right. And as you can see here, the ground staff will put in a bit of work to ensure that the landing spot is firm and ready if there was to be a restart.

But now to a bit more concerning areas and it's why the umpires will have a further inspection. It's this area and a few in the outfield behind me.
when I push my shoe in the ground, there's moisture coming up and you can see how close it is to the square. 73.4 mm of rain has fallen in the last 24 hours. What does that mean? In the entire month of August, we've only had 137 north of the island, so we're hoping that the wind can help us. The boundaries can be brought in a few meters to avoid some of those wet areas in the outfield.
So what can we do? We can only hope, pray for the best, but also pray that wind can keep coming."
4:23 AM IST, 6:43 PM Local Time: There will be an inspection at 7 PM Local Time, 4:30 AM IST. Stay tuned for further updates.
3:44 AM IST, 6:14 PM Local Time: The start of CPL 2023 hasn't been great as three games on the trot have been abandoned out of five games, and the forecast for this game is not promising as well, but we can only hope for the rain to stay from the game. The good news is, the rain has stopped now, and the groundsmen are busy mopping waters.

Key Players:

Pitch Report: The 22-yard in St Lucia has been a decent one so far this season. Sides batting first have managed to win both the completed matches played at the venue in CPL 11.

In Match 6 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023, St Lucia Kings will face St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Monday (August 21). The fixture, scheduled to get underway at 4.30 AM IST, will take place in Gros Islet.

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots have not yet taken the field in CPL 2023 because the weather forced the cancellation of their first game against the Trinbago Knight Riders before a ball had even been bowled. The likes of Corbin Bosch, Dewald Brevis, Dominic Drakes, Sheldon Cottrell, and Evin Lewis, as well as Ambati Rayudu from India, are eager to come out on top in this crucial fixture.

St. Lucia Kings have already played three games and experienced each of the three possible outcomes. Their most recent match against Guyana Amazon Warriors was abandoned after five overs of play due to persistent rain. Prior to that match, they defeated the Barbados Royals by 54 runs thanks to an excellent bowling performance from Matthew Forde (3/12) and handy batting contributions from Faf du Plessis (46) and Sean Williams (47).

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have only won once in their last five attempts against St Lucia Kings. In their previous meeting, Faf du Plessis (41) and Johnson Charles (61) both shone with the bat, and Kesrick Williams and David Wiese combined for six wickets to give the Kings a 49-run victory.

Do join us at 3.30 AM IST to enjoy our live coverage.
