18:30 IST and 09:00 Local Time | Hello and welcome to the coverage of the 5th match of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2023 between Barbados Royals and Jamaica Tallawahs.

I am Saptak Sanyal and will soon be joined by my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and our scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur to take you through all the live ball-by-ball updates of the match.
Preview by AkshayaKrishna Polya:

Games are coming thick and fast in the ongoing season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Jamaica Tallawahs face Barbados Royals in the fifth match of the tournament at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.

Both these sides have played a game so far and had contrasting results. While the Tallawahs defeated the hosts' St Lucia Kings, the Royals were brushed aside by the same opposition.

Brandon King played a terrific captain's knock in the curtain raiser and was the lone warrior for Jamaica. With some valuable contributions from the rest of the line-up, King took the team's total above 185. Even though Mohammad Amir had zero impact, the spin-bowling duo of Imad Wasim and Chris Green was too hot to handle for the Kings as the Jamaica-based franchise got the first points on the board with an 11-run win.

On the following day, the Barbados-based franchise faced the St Lucia-based franchise and had got a disappointing start to the competition. Only Jason Holder and Qais Ahmad were successful in troubling the St Lucia batters with them posting a massive total of 200+ on the board. Obed McCoy continued his poor run of form from the India series to here as well.

It was always going to be tough for the Royals in the run chase, but when you chose to show up as Rahkeem Cornwall did, you never gonna hunt it down. Cornwall was way too lazy in running for a single and was run out in the first legal delivery and from there onwards, the Royals never recovered. Nyeem Young showed some resistance down the order for the Rovman Powell-led side and was only able to reduce the hammering to 54 runs.

The Royals need some motivation after what transpired in the previous game. On the other hand, if you leave out skipper King, Jamaica too have plenty to ponder in the batting department.

Can Jamaica make it two wins in a row, or will Barbados get their first win of the season? To know, join us at 7:30 PM IST and 10:00 AM Local Time on Sunday for the live coverage of this feast!
