That's it from our end as it's Team Spirt who will be heading home with maximum points. Still early days in the tournament and the Barmy Army as they will be expected to make a comeback moving forward.

So until then, you take very good care of yourselves as this is Wali, Saipavan and Ashok signing off!
Nicola Carey (Team Spirit Captain): "Always nice to start off with a win, the girls were great today and all round it's been a terrific performance. My bowling was shocking and I was a bit scratchy with the bat but it was a good day and the rest of the girls did put in a good all-round performance. It was fun the last time the tournament was in Dubai and so is it is this time in Hong Kong."
Lauren Winfield-Hill ( Barmy Army Captain): "No I would think we lost the game but lots of positives and lots of players contributed well with bat and bowl in the field. We are just 15- 120 runs short with the bat. Norris did well with bat and bowl and Campbelle contributed lots of positive form and this is the first game. Want more put 15-20 runs in the next game if bat first, and the Fiedler was good in the middle. "
Mahika Gaur (Player of the Match):  "Was a great start for us and I had a lot of fun in the first few overs. The way we started off with the bat, it was a great, so credit goes to the batters as well. The captain gave me a lot of confidence while I was bowling and that helped."

Time for the post match presentation.

So that’s that and it’s Team Spirit that has secured a win by four wickets and eight balls to spare!

After being asked to bat first the Barmy Army didn’t get off to an ideal start as both openers were sent back to the hut by Mahika Gaur, who impressed for her side with her pace, bounce and swing.

Deandra Dottin accumulated 8 (7) before poking one to the keeper. Lauren Winfield was looking dangerous out there in the middle but ended up edging one to the keeper while being at 22 (14) as Gaur got her second wicket of the game.

Nigar Sultana didn’t have much to offer as she walked back for 1 (4). Laura Wolvaardt did try to stabilize things but was dismissed by Betty Chan for 17 (18) just when she was looking to shift gears.

However, the likes of Kavisha Kumari 30 (29), Shemaine Campbelle 33 (25)* and Tara Norris 17 (23)* towards the end did add a few valuable runs that got their side to a fighting first innings total of 135/5 from 20 overs.

For Spirit, it was Betty Chan that spun a web and made life difficult with her spin as she bagged two wickets for just 15 runs from three overs.

As for the run chase, it started off in a terrific manner for Spirit as they stormed to 39 from 3.2 overs. Most of the damage was being done by Sophia Dunkley who smashed her way to 35 (20), with three fours and three sixes to her name. Sarah Bryce could just add 7 (10) before she was dismissed by Rumana Ahmed through an LBW decision.

Nattakan Chantham also displayed her class with some elegant shots that got her to 23 (17). Tara Norris did manage to get her wicket which was followed up with another one off the very first ball as Bismah Maroof top edged one to the fielder at short mid-fielder.

The danger batter, Sophia Dunkley too departed off the next over and with Spirit losing three quick wickets from two overs, as it looked like the Barmy Army were making a comeback.

But that’s when the pair of Nicola Carey and Kerry-Anne Tomlinson counter attacked with a well constructed partnership of 46 runs. Carey played the role of an aggressor, whereas, Tomlinson anchored the innings from the other end.

Rumana did get her second scalp of the game as Tomlinson handed a catch to third man at 20 (21), but it was too little too late for the Barmy Army.

Nicola Carey showed grit throughout her knock and that got her side over the line courtesy her unbeaten knock of 40 (30)*.

For the Barmy Army, it was Rumana Ahmed who bowled well with her spell of 2/21 from four overs. Tara Norris also chipped in with 2/34 from four overs.
