That concludes the presentation and it also wraps up our coverage of the second FairBreak Invitational Womens T20 2023Warriors, the bottom-placed team of the previous season has started their campaign with a comprehensive victory over the Sapphires. The FairBreak Invitational Womens T20 action continues as Barmy Army Women takes on Spirit Women shortly. Do join us there. For now, this is Megh Mandaliya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide, and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Cheers!
Sindhu Sriharsha (Warriors Women Skipper): "The bowlers set up things nicely for us. We used the conditions very well and that helped us win the game. We think about the bowling changes before the game. We decided on whom to bowl with the short boundary at one end. We are going to play some good cricket going ahead in the competition. Phoebe needs to keep playing the way she played today. I thought we both were playing on two different wickets today. Great to see her bat and step up."
Sana Mir (South Coast Sapphires Women Skipper): "Credit to the Warriors. They played really well. Especially, Phoebe, she played good cricket. You can't blame it on the pitch and conditions. We started really well with the bat but could not capitalize. We have to do better in all departments at this level. We also didn't bowl the right areas on this wicket. We were too short and have to improve on this as well."
Phoebe Litchfield (Player of the Match): "It was quite difficult to start off. The ball was moving and they were bowling well. Katerine was hitting the right areas but I kept my patience and the bad balls came my way. Not necessarily to take the advantage of the powerplay. I decided to get settled and then played my strokes."
Player of the Match: Phoebe Litchfield
10:03 AM IST: That's it. The South Coast Sapphires Women are blown away by a batting masterclass from Phoebe Litchfield. The teenager smashed the Sapphires' bowlers all around the park and the Warriors Women chase down 112 in just 12.4 overs to win the game by seven wickets. With this, they get off to a winning start to the competition.

Chasing a partly total, the Warriors got off to a fantastic start. Hayley Matthews and Phoebe Litchfield took on the bowlers from the word go and made full use of the fielding restrictions. Matthews holed out in the deep on nine but there was no stopping Litchfield. The 19-year-old batter played some fantastic shots and kept the Sapphires at bay.

Esha Oza was trapped by Katherine Sciver-Brunt on one but Litchfield continued her merry way at the top of the order. She hit boundaries for fun and brought her fifty in just 26 balls. The Sapphires had no answers to the onslaught from Litchfield. With seven required to win, Litchfield was run out on 77 of 37 balls. She hit 16 fours and a maximum. Mignon du Preez (9*) and Sindhu Sriharsha (10*) provided the finishing touches as the Warriors chased down the total in just 12.4 overs to win the game by seven wickets.

Earlier, Warriors' skipper Sindhu Sriharsha won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Sapphires got off to a decent start. Katie Mack and Gaby Lewis started the innings positively before the latter fell on 13 in the fifth over. They were 36/1 at the end of the powerplay and Mack departed on 21 right after the fielding restrictions. Babette de Leede struggled to get going at one end.

Katerine Sciver-Brunt played aggressively and scored a run-a-ball 20 before getting dismissed in the 16th over. de Leede’s struggles came to an end in the 18th over when she departed on a 36-ball 24. The lack of contribution from the other batters resulted in the Sapphires finishing their innings on 111/7. Kathryn Bryce was the standout bowler for the Warriors as she picked up three wickets, giving away 25 runs in her four overs. Amanda-Jade Wellington also chipped in with a couple of scalps. Their batters then stepped up to chase down the total comfortably.

Stick around for the post-match presentation.
12.4 K Chan to Preez
4 FOUR! That will do it for the Warriors. A convincing victory to start their campaign. Short and wide of off-stump, du Preez rocks back and slaps that towards vacant deep extra covers region as the ball rockets away towards the boundary ropes. The Warriors have defeated the Sapphires by 7 wickets.
12.3 K Chan to Preez
0 Good length and slides down the leg. Du Preez misses the pull to the keeper. The Umpire signaled that as a wide but decided to reverse his decision.
12.2 K Chan to Preez
4 FOUR! The scores are level now. Tossed fuller and in the middle and off, du Preez steps out of the crease and goes inside out over extra covers as the ball races away towards the boundary ropes.
12.1 K Chan to Preez
0 Good length and slower outside off, du Preez cuts that to backward point for a dot.

11.4 E Burns to P Litchfield
W RUN OUT! Oh, dear! An unfortunate way to get out but a fantastic innings from Litchfield comes to an end. Full toss in the middle stump line, Litchfield pulls that to mid-wicket and starts scampering for a single. But a quick throw from Chan at the bowler's end Litchfield was well short of her crease there. She has two walk back for 77.
11.3 E Burns to P Litchfield
4 FOUR MORE! Fuller and on the pads again, Litchfield again gets down on one knee and swats that across the line towards deep backward square leg as the ball races away towards the boundary ropes.
100 up for the Warriors Women.
