ASL vs WG 6th Match, LLC 2023

                     Earlier in the night, Asia Lions won the toss and put World Giants to bat first. The Giants had quite start with the bat as they failed to capitalize on the powerplay. In the third over itself, they lost Gayle due to a miscommunication in between the wickets, then skipper Watson played an ordinary shot to get out. From there on, Amla held a partnership with his long-time teammate Jacques Kallis as they batted along the innings to post a respectable total on the board.
                      They took time to settle in, then they started playing shots once Shahid Afridi came to bowl. Their partnership lasted for 105 runs as Amla got out to a ripper off Amir. In the end, Brien's 9 run cameo took the score to 150. Abdur Razzak restricted run-scoring quite a bit along with his counterparts.

                      As the second innings unfolded, Tharanga got dismissed by Mpofu after struggling for quite a bit. But from there on, his long-time opening partner Dilshan took the game away with counter-attacking shots, But they kept on losing wickets courtesy of Mpofu and Best. They didn't let Perera, Hafeez, or Misbah settle in. Skipper Afridi came in to smash bowls out of the park, he looked in great touch though. But Binga dismissed him to get his team into the zone. Lions lost the plot as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals,
                      At one point, it looked like they would get the job done well inside 20 overs but they fall short by 20 runs. Christopher Mpofu had an incredible outing today as he not only picked up three wickets with his own bowling but also pulled up two stunners with direct throws at crucial junctures of the game. They are through to the finals to defend their title as the other two teams are ready to face off to get a pass to a cracker final. Watson would be proud of his boys today. A clinical bowling performance has got them through.
