That’s a wrap from our side as well. Thank you for joining us from all around the globe. This is Prince Suman signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Harsha Anand and Scorer / Analyst Chandan Kumar Singh. Do join us for the other fixtures across the globe. Until then, Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.

Misbah-ul-Haq (Player of the Match): "Thanks to everyone who has come here and cheered us throughout the match. Yeah, I was trying to assess the field and see where my scoring areas are according to my strengths. I think 160 was a par score on that wicket as it was holding up a bit, especially with the old ball and scoring was tougher at the back end of the innings. Yes, will try to continue and take this momentum into the coming matches as well"
Gautam Gambhir (India Maharajas): "Got to give credit to the Lions today, very clinical performance by them, especially in the last 3-4 overs their bowlers Tanvir and Perera were brilliant. 160 was a bit more than the par score we thought at the halfway mark, but again credit to the opposition for putting that score up. It's tough for bowlers to come back after such a big gap post their careers but probably what lost us the match was missing those catches. Those hurt more than anything else. (Talking about his own form) I don’t think runs matter if we don’t win, so next time around will try to be on the winning side"
Shahid Afridi (Asia Lions): "Thanks to the crowd, they have come in big numbers to support us. No, we didn’t really have any hiccups, we were just enjoying it all the way. I think we were 20-25 runs short of where we wanted to finish with the bat but it was a good game of cricket. Shoaib Akhtar might come into the team as 3-4 of us will definitely rest, including me. Not only Misbah, but everyone, all bowlers, Tanvir and Perera especially, bowled really well and all did their part for us today"

  Misbah-ul-Haq (Player of the Match)
12:04 PM IST|: A brilliant display of batting and bowling by Asia Lions helped to win this match by 9 runs.

In pursuit of a stiff total of 166, the India Maharajas started on the worst possible note as the key man Robin Uthappa departed for a duck. Afterward, Gautam Gambhir alongside Murali Vijay took charge to rescue from this critical situation and posted 49 runs in the powerplay. But their efforts were halted when Murali Vijay departed for 25 runs off 19 balls.

Suresh Raina was the next to bat but was unable to settle at the crease and sent him back soon. Mohammad Kaif Joined Gautam Gambhir at the crease and both tried to build a partnership but their efforts were halted when Gambhir departed for  54 runs off 39 balls. Yusuf Pathan failed to impress with the bat today as he scored only 14 runs off 10 balls.

The left-hander Irfan Pathan swatted a quickfire 19(10) and created a slender chance but it was Sohail Tanvir once again who brought  Asia Lions back into the game by dismissing Irfan Pathan. Following Irfan's wicket, Maharajas required 16 from the last 6 and the target proved a little too much for tails to chase down. On the flip side, Sohail Tanvir was the pick of the bowler as he extracted 3 wickets, while Isuru Udana, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Thisara Perera, and Abdul Razzaq shared a solitary wicket each.

Earlier, after winning the toss and opting to bat first, Asia Lions lost 2 wickets in quick succession in the powerplay, afterward, Tharanga and Misbah stitched 108 runs of partnership which helped the Lions to post a mammoth total of 165 runs.

Misbah-ul-Haq was the top runs scorer as he scored 73 runs off 50 balls. On the flip side, Binny and Parvinder Awana extracted a couple of wickets each, while Irfan Pathan and Ashok Dinda extracted a solitary wicket each.

Stick around for the post-match presentations…….
