Milestone
That was walk in the park for Northamptonshire and let's just hope that we get to see more excitement, drama and fight from both ends on the contrary to tonight's fixture.

That being said, we hope you enjoyed the coverage as we will be back soon with more live updates. Until then, this is Wali, Megh and Ghanendra signing off!

1:44 PM IST: So thatā€™s that and itā€™s Northamptonshire who have demolished Yorkshire courtesy a win by 78 runs!

Batting first, Northamptonshire compiled a first innings total of 180-6 from 20 overs. The opening duo of Ricardo Vasconcelos and Emilio Gay struck a 55 run stand for the first wicket from 5.5 overs.

Vasconcelos was the first wicket to depart as he scored a valuable 37 (24) before getting sent back by Jordan Thompson. Chris Lynn at number three didnā€™t have much to offer as he was dismissed for 3 (9) by Jafer Chohan.

Emilio Gay did well to get to a quickfire knock 40 (25), which consisted of four fours and two sixes. However, it was Justin Broad who topped the charts for his side thanks to his unbeaten 47 (32)*. Broad struck six boundaries while batting at a strike rate of 146.87 and constructed a breezy 40 run stand alongside skipper David Willey who added 28 (18).

For Yorkshire, it was Jafer Chohan who impressed with his spell of 1-13 from four overs. Jordan Thompson did take two wickets but conceded 42 runs in the process. Whereas, three of the dismissals in the first innings were through run-outs.

As for the run-chase, Yorkshire were not able to show any sort of fight or character throughout the 15.2 overs that they faced.

Barring Dawid Malanā€™s 34 (24), none of the other batters crossed a score past even 15 which further indicated the level of dominance imposed by the Northamptonshire unit.

David Willey and Ben Sanderson caused havoc in the first six overs of the powerplay as they bagged two wickets apiece. The opening duo brought their ā€˜A-Gameā€™ with their swing and movement off the deck and made it extremely difficult for the batters to score runs.

However, it was Tom Taylor who stole the show with his pace, movement and variations as he ended up scalping five wickets for just 28 runs in his four over spell.

Taylor chimed in by getting the better of Dawid Malan, David Wiese, Ben Mike, Jonathan Tattersal and Jafer Chohan.

Yorkshire were eventually bundled out for a meager 102, as this defeat will certainly dampen their spirits in the road ahead.

As for Northamptonshire, this win will add to their confidence levels as they look to replicate such performances in the near future.

W BOWLED 'EM! A well-executed yorker darted on the middle stump, Chohan fails to bring his bat down on time and sees his stumps being rattled. A comprehensive victory for Northamptonshire Steelbacks. They defeat Yorkshire by 78 runs.
