So, that’s it from this encounter. Surrey win this game by 124 runs. Stay tuned for more cricketing action going on in our network. For now, this is Saipavan Janaki, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Hitesh Peddurwar alongside our scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal. Thanks!
02.08 AM IST: That's it!! Surrey dominated in all three departments and defeated Sussex by 124 runs. They registered their sixth victory in eight games played till now in South Group.

Earlier in the game, Sussex won the toss and elected to bowl first. Surrey started the innings with Will Jacks and Laurie Evans, but they lost the early wicket of Jacks in the first over.

But the credit goes to Laurie Evans and Sam Curran. The duo took charge after the early wicket and progressed their partnership in the middle. They both brought up their respective fifties and glued a solid partnership of 157 runs in 81 balls. Laurie Evans and Sam Curran scored 93 and 68 runs respectively.

Jamie Overton added 24 runs to the total while Tom Curran played an entertaining knock of 29 runs off just 9 balls. In the end, Sean Anthony Abbott chipped in with 16* runs off 8 balls and took his team to a mammoth total of 258 runs.

From Sussex Sharks, Henry Crocombe and Tymal Mills scalped a couple of wickets each. Shadab Khan and Nathan McAndrew with a wicket each.

While chasing a mammoth total of 259 runs.  Sussex got off to a shaky start and lost their first wicket in the second over itself. Tom Clark and Tom Alsop tried to steer the ship for Sussex but they failed when Tom Clark walks off to the field at 43 runs off 23 balls. They posted 64 runs, a loss of 2 wickets in the first 6 overs. Afterward, Sussex kept on losing the wickets at regular intervals and was going away from the target.

Tom Lawes bowled a magnificent 9th over and broked the backbone of Sussex. He scalped two wickets in that over and made the task tough for the batters. It was just a domino effect of wickets and Sussex never looked like they will be back in the game. Six batters failed to reach the two-digit mark. Tom Clark was the top scorer for Sussex.

Sunil Narine and Cameron Steel were the picks of the bowlers for Surrey as they scalped three wickets each.  Will Jacks and Tom Lawes picked a couple of wickets each.
