2:12 AM IST | Well that's all she wrote for today folks! Essex with a comprehensive victory over Sussex! This is Anirudh jumping off the bandwagon, with my co-commentator Deepak and our scorer/analyst Bishal Mandal!

Stay tuned to our coverage of this season's T20 Blast! See you on the next one!
Michael-Kyle Pepper (Player of the match): "Just give me practice and everything is feeling quite nice so, nice to go there and help the team. Yeah, the ball was coming very nicely on the bat. We were targeting ourselves and the other partnerships were very crucial. Yeah, we were very confident as we had a lot of batters still to come out. Yeah, definitely we will try to take the confidence to the next game."
2:02 AM IST | A fantastic end to a dominant victory for the Eagles! Critchley and Sams stay until the end to make sure their team chases down the total successfully and in under 15 overs! They defeat a hapless Sussex side by 5 wickets!

Sussex won the toss and elected to bat first, and boy did that decision backfire immediately! Cook picked up the early wicket of Clark and there was no turning back from there. Sussex lost 2 more wickets by the powerplay ended. Their inability to stitch together a valuable partnership cost them the game big time.

Ravi Bopara was the only light in the dark as the veteran notched up a well paced 50 off 31 balls to ensure his team set a defendable total on the day with 147 all out in their innings. Cook was the pick of the bowlers, his disciplined bowling rewarded him with the eventual figures of 4-0-20-4!

Come the chase, Sussex had a glimmer of hope as they too dismissed Lawrence off the second delivery of the first over. However, thereafter it was a completely different story. Rossington and Peppers went on a carnage and by the time they were done with the Sussex bowlers, they had smashed their way to a 76 run-stand from just 5 overs!

Essex were in cruise control after that, because even after losing a few wickets in flurry, their lower middle order of Sams and Critchley ensured their team got over the line with over 5 overs to spare! Michael Pepper top scored for his team with 48 runs off 26 deliveries. While, the experienced Tymal Mills offered little trouble to Essex as he picked up 2/34 from his quota of 4 overs.

Sussex go further into trouble as this loss meant they have now lost 6 out of the 7 games they have played this season. They have a lot of thinking to do if they are to turn this season around. While Essex get even more stuck in at the mid-table with a resounding victory today! An interesting journey awaits ahead for both teams.
