1:50 AM IST: Worcestershire start the T20 season fresh with a 15 run win against the struggling Northamptonshire team after a dominating performance at Northampton. Worcs elected to bat first and put a decent total of 196/9 in their 20 overs on the back of Adam Hose's 61 in 40 balls. Tom Taylor and Andrew Tye shared 5 wickets between them for the Northants.

The chase begun on a bright note for the hosts as the experienced Chris Lynn (28) added 50 runs in no time with Ricardo Vasconcelos (32 off 20). The pair was broken straight after with Lynn departing to Mitchell Stanley (1/17).

Skipper David Willey promoted himself at number 3 and scored 36 in 24 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. The middle order crumbled as 3 batters failed to score in double digits. It was Taylor who stepped up with the bat as well scoring an unbeaten 44 in 26 balls with 4 fours and a maximum.

His effort wasn't enough as the hosts couldn't build partnerships. The leg spinning duo of Usama Mir (3/21) and Brett D'Oliveira (3/28) were the pick of the bowlers for Worcestershire. Stanley and Pat Brown both got a wicket each. Michael Bracewell and Adam Finch were both wicketless and costly.
Worcestershire grabs a memorable win by 15 runs against Northamptonshire in a high scoring encounter!

6 SIX!! A one handed smack down the ground!! Length ball angled in on the off stump. Tye stands his ground and plays a one handed swing over long on!

1 Short and outside the off stump, hits it hard but finds long on again collecting a single.
19.3 P Brown to T Taylor
2 Length ball on the off stump. Taylor hits hard but finds deep midwicket. The batters are heading back for the second. Tye does well to get back in the crease at the danger end.
Just four legal balls are needed now.
19.2 P Brown to T Taylor
2 Full on the leg stump, slow again. Worked to the right of deep midwicket who runs in from the boundary to fetch the ball. Couple of more runs added to the total.
19.1 P Brown to A Tye

So, we are up for the final over. Northamptonshire needs 29 from it. Can they do it? Let's see.
